Netherlands vs France Bet Builder Tips: France to feast on depleted Netherlands

France Or Draw Double Chance

This looks like an excellent time to be facing the Dutch, who are without several key players. The spine of the team has been ripped out, with both Frenkie de Jong & Matthijs de Ligt confirmed casualties. The Netherlands will also be short-handed in attack, with Memphis Depay and Cody Gakpo unavailable. The crisis continues with Steven Berghuis a late pull-out, and France can absolutely take advantage of their opponents’ issues. Les Bleus have arguably the strongest squad in the world and can cope without the likes of Saliba and Kounde.

If France wins, they will confirm their qualification for Euro 2024, not that there’s much doubt about that. They have a 100% record in the group and comfortably beat the Dutch 4-0 in the reverse fixture. The simple fact is that France is much the better team overall, even without the hosts struggling with an injury crisis. Ronald Koeman is often unconvincing as manager of De Oranjes, and the away side should, at worst, draw the game. Taking France in the draw double chance market seems like a safe pick.

Over 1.5 France Goals

Since the start of the World Cup in Qatar, the French have scored at least twice in all but four international encounters. The only time they didn’t net was in a dead rubber vs Tunisia, and usually, this attack can be relied upon to score multiple goals.

Exceptions in this group have been 1-0 wins vs Greece and Ireland, two very defensive sides who just parked the bus. That is unlikely to be the case here because the Dutch are the type of team that will naturally have more of a go, leading to an open encounter. France will be fired up for such a game, and especially when you consider the defensive absences, they should be able to feast on this defence.

Kylian Mbappé to Score Anytime

Les Bleus captain Kylian Mbappé scored twice in the reverse fixture and is an obvious candidate to find the back of the net again. He has a fantastic record at international level and fired 40 goals in 71 caps for his country. Mbappé has actually been on a goal drought domestically, failing to register in any of his last four PSG fixtures, and that type of statistic should make him more hungry.

He is the type of player who gets fired up when he hasn’t scored for a while, which was evident by the eight shots he attempted vs Rennes at the weekend. That match included an outrageous open-goal miss, which will have embarrassed him greatly. Expect him to move centre stage here and produce a big performance.
