Saturday Night Football Acca Tips: June 4th
International football gears up into full swing after a packed domestic campaign – it’s a trip to Hungary, Italy and Switzerland next on the agenda here at bettingexpert. If a misfiring Italian side and a tetchy Hungarian outfit continue in a similar vein, our Nations League foray may take care of itself. In Switzerland, with the U21s, 0-0 will do fine.

Hungary vs England Best Bet
Nations League, Saturday, 15th May, 17:00 (UK time)
England, unbeaten in 22 matches in all competitions (in 90-minutes, of course, Italy fans), comes into the initial Nations League fixture without losing in their last 15 outings against Hungary (W12/D3). Before this run, the Hungarians oversaw a four-game winning streak against the English from 1953 to 1962. Interestingly, Gareth Southgate could become the first manager in England’s dugout to register consecutive away victories against Hungary.
Naturally, the head coach and his backroom staff will hope there’s no Premier League hangover during the final International break of the campaign. But, unfortunately, it is one that players have voiced concerns with following a gruelling 70+ game season for some.
Nevertheless, the weight of pulling on the Three Lions crest should put any annoyances to bed for now. Jarrod Bowen and James Justin are the two new faces who join a squad looking to cement Qatari World Cup places for themselves.
Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham swan into camp on the back of tremendous form, a Scudetto win, and a European trophy lift in Italy. The new-found Italians are two players who will breathe life into the current setup before England’s four games in ten days. The Roma forward muscles his way into Southgate’s squad after becoming the highest-scoring Englishman (17) in a single Serie A campaign.
It may come at a tiring time of the season, but it’s certainly a period where many can stake their claim to Southgate and the adoring public. From a betting perspective, that want to impress stands us in good stead if looking to get England on our side.
For my best bet, I’ve delved into the card market. Hungary are familiar with a booking, as is Artur Dias, who has the whistle. In Hungary’s two matches against England in 2021, they picked up one yellow in October and three a month prior in World Cup qualification. In addition, Hungary also mustered 20+ booking points in recent ‘friendlies’ against Northern Ireland and Hungary.
There’s added needle to this game, unwantedly. In England’s 0-4 visit to Hungary in September, the racial abuse hurled at Southgate’s men was deplorable. Furthermore, the Puskás Aréna will be crammed with up to 30,000 children on Saturday. Again, the Magyars fans were issued with behind closed doors sanctions for racist chants from the stands in Euro 2022. The hoards of children will be a reminder of the abuse suffered in September and offer a backdrop to what should be a tetchy encounter.
A goal in either half makes up the bet builder selection and is one that didn’t land in either of the recent head-to-heads. Despite the 0-4 scoreline, all goals fell in the second half in World Cup qualifying. Nonetheless, if England show up like they often do, it’s a pick with every chance.
The away side will need to start fast. The goal in either half pick landed in seven of ten World Cup qualifying matches. Tyrone Mings’ 93rd-minute header ensured that England’s two most recent international friendlies ushered the selection over the line in both.
- Selection: A Goal in Both Halves + 20+ Hungary Booking Points
- Best Odds: 2.75 (Skybet)
- Stakes: 05/10
Italy vs Germany Best Bet
Nations League, Saturday, 15th May, 19:45 (UK time)
Since clinching the European Championship from England’s grasp, it hasn’t been plain sailing for Italy. That trail of thought is clear as day, with Mancini’s squad crashing out of World Cup qualifying for Qatar.
After the Euros, Italy failed to beat Bulgaria and Switzerland at home, and Northern Ireland and the Swiss again on their travels. Then, finally, the gut-wrenching World Cup blow came at the hands of North Macedonia, who cast Italy aside in Palermo with Qatar just one game away.
Italy did, however, get the better of a weakened Belgian team in the Nations League. But that was only four days after trailing 2-0 to the Spaniards in Milan. And now here we are, following a 0-3 defeat to Argentina in the Finalissima – a meeting between South America and Europe’s best.
There’s no rest for the wicked. It’s Germany up next in Bologna, one of the few nations that will strike fear into the Italian public following recent form. After limping out of the Euros against England, the Germans have, unsurprisingly, won seven competitive matches on the spin. The seven-game aggregate scoreline of 31-2 coincides with a new face in the dugout.
Joachim Löw’s final game against England welcomed Hansi Flick through the door. The former Bayern man has taken to life like a duck out of water. Although, realistically, their World Cup qualifying group was one they should have wiped the floor with. But, as the old saying goes, you can only beat what is put in front of you, and that’s what Flick’s Germany has done.
Given the contrasting form, the Germany 0.0 Asian handicap is firmly in my sights. It’s an experienced German side that will arrive in Italy. Only Hoffenheim goalkeeper Oliver Baumann touches down in Bologna without a cap in the 26-strong group. Priced at 1.75 for what is effectively Draw No Bet, there’s some value there.
- Selection: Germany +0 Asian Handicap
- Best Odds: 1.75 (bet365)
- Stakes: 10/10 – 1u tracked
Switzerland U21 vs Bulgaria U21 Best Bet
Under-21 Championship Qualifying, Saturday, 15th May, 18:00 (UK time)
To cap off the article in a drab fashion, let’s hope for no excitement whatsoever in Switzerland. The Swiss’ younger generation faces Bulgaria in a European Championship qualifier.
The Bulgarians have proved stingy at either end in terms of goals during qualifying. In Bulgaria, between the two sides, Switzerland managed a 0-1 victory thanks to a Kastriot Imeri strike on the stroke of half-time. The visitors arrive with a 1.12 goals scored per90 average from eight fixtures, whilst their goals conceded total of 1.12 shows their consistently stingy if nothing else.
Switzerland have only conceded five goals in eight games, so there shouldn’t be many worries surrounding Bulgaria hitting a shed load. The main concern here is the Swiss’ ability to find the net. If Bulgaria can remain compact and resolute, we may have some joy.
Having already qualified for the Euros, that added intent to work an opening or find a goal may not be there for the hosts. Well, that’s the working theory.
- Selection: Under 2.5 Goals
- Best Odds: 2.07 (bet365)
- Stakes: 7/10

WHAT IS A FOOTBALL ACCA?
A football acca is an accumulator bet, a type of bet that consists of several selections across different matches that are combined together into one single bet. An acca usually. consists of at least four selections but many more can be included. There will be odds for the single bet as a whole which is calculated by multiplying the odds of all of the selections. A football acca is one of the most popular ways to bet. This is the case because they can create potentially massive odds for a small stake. Many punters choose to create football accas which is what we have created here. If one of these selections loses then the football acca will lose. This type of bet needs every selection to win in order to succeed.
