Napoli vs Lecce Prediction 1: Napoli’s Woes to Continue?

The curtain comes down on Serie A this weekend and it is a season Napoli will be glad to see the back of. They won the league at a canter last term but are 10th coming into the final day of this campaign. Francesco Calzona is their third manager of the season and results have been extremely poor of late. Expect wholesale changes at the club in the summer but it could be some time before they are fighting it out at the top of the Italian football pyramid.
Napoli have picked up just one win in their last nine matches. They are scoring 0.44 fewer goals per game than their opponents during that run so the Asian handicap appeals in this match. The Partonopei could only manage a 1-1 draw last time they hosted Lecce, despite going on to win the title.
Lecce have fared reasonably well in their recent away matches. They have won two and drawn two of their last five. The only loss was a 3-0 defeat at the San Siro against AC Milan so this bet has landed in four of their last five on the road.

Napoli vs Lecce Prediction 2: Defences Set to Struggle
Napoli are a lot shorter on the 1×2 market than their opponents but clean sheets have been hard to come by. As a result, both teams to score looks like a solid bet here. The home side have conceded more goals than any other side in the top half of the league with an average of 1.3 per game.
Cazlona’s side are without a clean sheet in their last 10 matches at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. Both teams have scored in seven of those games. Napoli haven’t failed to score in any of their last nine head-to-heads with Lecce dating back to 2010 so let’s hope they can repeat that here.
Lecce are 14th in the table so there is no pressure on them coming into this final match of the campaign. Expect them to attack freely when possible in an attempt to exploit Napoli’s defensive frailties. They may be the third-lowest-scoring team in Serie A but they have managed to score in four of their last five away matches. With the threat of relegation gone, we could see more freedom in their play.

Victor Osimhen is likely to have played his last game for Napoli with him unlikely to return to full fitness until the summer. Chelsea and PSG are rumoured to be chasing his signature. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia stepped up and scored in the Nigerian’s last game and we are backing him to do the same once again.
The Georgian international was awarded Napoli’s Player of the Year last season as they stormed their way to a historic Serie A crown. He has been fantastic once again this season despite the club floundering in midtable. He has a non-penalty xG of 0.3 per game, which puts him in the 78th percentile when compared with all attacking midfielders and wingers across Europe’s top five leagues. Khvicha’s dribbling ability is what really sets him apart. His average 6.07 progressive carries per 90 puts him in the top 3% for wingers.

Napoli vs Lecce Team News and Possible Lineups: No Farewell For Osimhen
Napoli wil be without some key players as they attempt to end this miserable season on a high. Piotr Zielinski has a muscle injury that will keep him out until next month. Mario Rui is also ruled out until June. Victor Osimhen is also set to miss out. Victor was crucial in Napoli winning their first league title since the days of Diego Maradona but may not put on the famous shirt again.
Valentin Gendrey, Nicola Sansone, Lameck Banda and Kastriot Darmaku are all absent for the visitors. Mohamed Kaba is also an injury doubt but he will face a late fitness test after sustaining a knee injury.
