Selection 1: Monaco vs Lorient Best Bet
Monaco to add to Lorient’s travel sickness
Sunday’s early kick-off pits in-form Monaco at home against a Lorient side that has not won an away Ligue 1 match since October 2020.
The home side have won each of their last three matches by exactly two goals, including league victories against Lens and Lyon – teams that are around them in the league. Meanwhile, they eased past Ligue 2 Amiens in the cup on Tuesday, rotating their squad to keep players fresh.
Wissam Ben Yedder is their man in form. He has scored in each of his last four league matches, and in seven of the previous nine. Lorient have the fourth-poorest defence in Ligue 1 and will struggle to keep him in check. Anytime scorer odds of 1.85 at Betfred are attractive.
Monaco, meanwhile, have won their last four home matches in Ligue 1 and expect to continue that trend against a Lorient side that will be bereft of experienced defensive players Jeremy Morel, Laurent Abergel and Fabien Lemoine.
Lorient may have overcome Lens last weekend, but they have lost their last nine on the road in all competitions. Of these defeats, seven have come by at least two goals.
Best Bet: Monaco -1 (AH) @ 1.64.
Selection 2: Angers vs Strasbourg Best Bet
Strasbourg deserve Angers favouritism
Angers opened the season up with a 2-0 win over Sunday’s opponents Strasbourg, but after a promising beginning, Gerald Baticle’s side have faded in recent weeks. Indeed, last weekend they were battered 5-2 by Marseille, having led 2-0 in the early stages of the game.
In Strasbourg, they face one of Ligue 1’s form teams. Racing have won six of their last eight matches. Although they have picked up only four away wins all season, three of those have come in four fixtures since the start of December.
While the guests certainly deserve some consideration at 2.38 to get the win, perhaps the best odds are on backing against both teams to score. This would have been a winning bet in half of Angers’ last six games and in five of Strasbourg’s last seven.
Best Bet: No on Both teams to Score @ 2.10 .

Selection 3: Clermont Foot vs Saint Etienne Best Bet
Saint-Etienne’s green shoots of recovery
Clermont and Saint-Etienne are two improving sides who will meet in a Sunday derby clash.
After a long run of poor form, Clermont have won each of their last couple of games against Rennes and Nice – two strong opponents. Although a team noted for their attacking quality and not their defensive abilities, five of their six victories have come with cleansheets.
Saint-Etienne, meanwhile, have benefitted from January signings and have been strengthened over the last fortnight by players returning from the AFCON. They have won their last two in Ligue 1 and, having been in a seemingly impossible position, suddenly have some hope.
They hold the mental edge in this duel, having scored twice after the 90-minute mark to beat Clermont 3-2 at home. Expect their recovery to continue by taking something from this game.
Best Bet: Saint Etienne +0.5 (AH) @ 1.70

Selection 4: Brest vs Troyes Best Bet
No excitement in Brest and Troyes
Goals are likely to be at a premium between Brest and Troyes in a battle between two out-of-form sides.
Brest’s only win in their last six games came in a shock 2-0 victory over Lille, while Troyes have only won one of their last seven.
The home side have played out four successive matches in which only one team has scored. New ESTAC boss Bruno Irles has overseen four matches, which have produced a grand total of four goals.
There has been nothing in recent matches to suggest that the pattern of low-scoring fixtures that these teams have been in will change. They played as recently as 22 December in a game that finished 1-1.
Best Bet: Under 2.5 goals @ 1.80
Selection 5: Nantes vs Reims Best Bet
Nantes’ strong home record to continue
Nantes booked their progress to the Coupe de France semi-finals on Thursday with a victory over Bastia, and with fourth-tier opponents to play, there is excitement over the prospect of reaching the final.
There has been no loss of focus on the league lately, however. They were edged in Strasbourg last weekend but they have won five of their last six at home. The exception was a draw against Monaco.
Reims, meanwhile, are buoyant after a 5-0 win over Bordeaux. Although an impressive result, it should be put into context by how poor their opponents were.
They have been awkward to beat on the road this season, though, with six draws from 12 Ligue 1 matches.
Backing Nantes on an Asian handicap, however, means that it is unlikely any money will be lost.
Best Bet: Nantes +0 (AH) @ 1.55
Selection 6: Lens vs Bordeaux Best Bet
Lens and Bordeaux to play a thriller
Lens’ home meeting with Bordeaux sees two of Ligue 1’s highest-scoring sides face each other. Lens’ 23 games have seen 69 goals, while the visitors’ fixtures have produced an astonishing 92 strikes.
Bordeaux are presently managerless, having placed Vladimir Petkovic on gardening leave last weekend. While there may be an improvement, it is unlikely there will be a miracle to patch up their defence, which is the worst in Europe’s Big 5 leagues. Although there was January recruitment, last week’s 5-0 loss in Reims showed how fragile their confidence is.
Of their last 12 Ligue 1 matches, 11 have produced more than 2.5 goals.
Lens, meanwhile, will be seeking to use this game to bounce back after losses to Marseille and Lorient. Although they have failed to score in successive games, that is a first for the season. With 36 goals scored in 23 games, this has rarely been a problem and it would be surprising if this run was extended.
Having played out a thrilling 3-2 win over Bordeaux in September, a similarly goal-laden event should be forecast for Sunday.
Best Bet: Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.57
Selection 7: Metz vs Marseille Best Bet
Back a positive Marseille response
Marseille will make the journey to Metz on Sunday night with criticism still ringing in their ears after suffering a humiliating 4-1 cup defeat in Nice on Wednesday.
OM have typically travelled well this season domestically and have won seven of 11 Ligue 1 road trips. With just seven goals conceded in these games, they have typically been highly reliable on their travels. Conversely, there is no team worse at home than Metz. They have earned five points in their last five games, but all of these were taken on the road. Their only home victory since January 2021 came against struggling Lorient in December.
Marseille have typically coped well with being under pressure this season and should have the mental and technical resources to bounce back in this match.
Best Bet: Marseille to Win @ 1.70

What is a Ligue 1 Acca?
A Ligue 1 acca is an accumulator bet, a type of bet that consists of several selections across different matches that are combined together into one single bet. An acca usually. consists of at least four selections but many more can be included. There will be odds for the single bet as a whole which is calculated by multiplying the odds of all of the selections. A Ligue 1 acca is one of the most popular ways to bet. This is the case because they can create potentially massive odds for a small stake. Many punters choose to create Ligue 1 accas which is what we have created here. If one of these selections loses then the Ligue 1 acca will lose. This type of bet needs every selection to win in order to succeed.
