LA Galaxy vs Inter Miami Tip 1: Goal Gluttonous Galaxy
U.S.A, MLS, Monday, February 26th, 01:30 (UK)
Despite a dismal campaign that saw them finish second bottom of the Western Conference, Galaxy were very potent in front of goal, with only three teams scoring more than their 51 in the regular season.
Of their final 20 games of last season, La Galaxy scored at least twice on 16 occasions in 17 games at Dignity Health Sports Park.
On the other hand, only Toronto FC conceded more than Miami’s 54 in the Eastern Conference. Away from home, Miami struggled, conceding 33 goals in 17 games and picking up just 11 points.
La Galaxy has further strengthened their front line in the off-season, signing Joseph Paintsil and Gabriel Pec from KRC Genk and Vasco Da Gama, respectively.
With Inter Miami adopting an attack-first style of play, LA Galaxy should have plenty of opportunities at goal, as shown by Real Salt Lake’s 17 shots in the opener.
- La Galaxy vs Inter Miami Tip 1: La Galaxy Over 1.5 Goals
- Best Odds: 1.83

- Stake: 10/10
La Galaxy vs Inter Miami Tip 2: Miami To Tire Late
As alluded to earlier, Miami favours an attacking style of play, often leaving them exposed defensively. Fullbacks Jordi Alba and DeAndre Yedlin like to masquerade forward, leaving just the centre-back duo and veteran Sergio Busquets back to defend.
Miami also have a very high average age in their starting line-up, with seven of their starting line-up against Real Salt Lake aged 30 or over.
Due to this, Gerardo Martino’s side tends to tire late on in games, with Salt Lake recording 13 of their 17 shots in the second half. Pablo Mastroeni’s side also hit all five of their corners in the second period as Inter struggled to get out of their own half.
Galaxy will look to exploit this in the next game and will surely deploy a much higher defensive line than Real Salt Lake did on Thursday night.
LA Galaxy ended last season by hitting at least three second-half corners in seven of their previous eight home games, averaging 3.25 second-half home corners.
With Miami already playing this season and already heavy-legged from touring Japan and Saudi Arabia in pre-season, expect Martino’s side to tire late on and Galaxy to ramp up the pressure in front of their home crowd.
- La Galaxy vs Inter Miami Tip 2: LA Galaxy Over 2 Second Half Corners
- Best Odds: 1.90
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 10/10
La Galaxy vs Inter Miami Tip 3: The Goat To Start Scoring Spree
This season, we are once again blessed with the talents of the world’s greatest ever, with the Argentine scoring 11 in 16 appearances last season. In the opener against Salt Lake, Messi was key to all things in transition, registering an assist, four shots and two on target.
In a unique way of defending free-kicks, Justen Glad headed a goal-bound free-kick over the bar, denying Messi his first of the season.
In his four MLS starts last campaign, Messi scored once and averaged 0.67 xG p90 and 4.84 shots.
The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner will be relishing the opportunity to face up against an LA Galaxy side that conceded a league-high 67 goals last season, conceding at least two goals in their last nine appearances, for an average of over three goals in this time frame.
To get odds against for the G.O.A.T to score is a sight we won’t see too often this season, so it is wise to get on board when we can.
- LA Galaxy vs Inter Miami Tip 3: Lionel Messi To Score
- Best Odds: 2.05
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 10/10

LA Galaxy vs Inter Miami Team News and Possible Lineups: Galaxy Full Strength
As of yet, there is no indication of any injuries of note for Galaxy. With a couple of seasons in the off-season, it is hard to predict how they will line up.
Miami, on the other hand, has many injuries. Benjamin Cremaschi, Facundo Farias, Franco Negri, Ian Fray and Robbie Robinson all missed the victory over Real Salt Lake with injuries that will likely keep them out for over a month.
Martino was also dealt a significant blow when young Argentine centre-back Tomas Aviles limped off injured in the 77th minute, leaving a crisis at the back.
