Norway vs Spain: Visitors Can Tame Bull, Erling Haaland
European Championship Qualifiers, Sunday, October 15th, 19:45 (UK)
This is a huge game for Norway if they want to make it to next summer’s European Championships. They are two points behind their opponents, having played a game more, and they are the clear underdogs coming into this one. The Norwegians will be relying on the goalscoring exploits of Erling Halaand to come up trumps against a possession-hungry Spain.
Spain got a much-needed win over Scotland in their last qualifying match. They were a little fortunate with the Scots having a goal chalked off by a controversial VAR decision, but they are still three points off the leaf in Group A. Since Jode Luis de la Fuente took over, the team have lost just one of their seven matches.
Norway are a capable side, but they haven’t beaten Spain in any of the last three head-to-heads. They lost on home turf to Scotland back in June and managed just three attempts on target. They will see very little of the ball here, so expect them to come out second best.
This fixture is vital for Spain. They can go top of the group thanks to their superior goal difference. They beat Norway 3-0 in the reverse fixture and will be full of confidence after the morale-boosting win at home to Scotland.
- Selection: Spain To Win
- Best Odds: 2.05

- Stake: 7/10
Belgium vs Sweden: Belgium Can Turn on the Style
European Championship Qualifiers, Monday, October 16th, 19:45 (UK)
Belgium’s golden generation flattered to deceive, but there have been signs of improvement since Domenico Tedesco took charge after the World Cup. They have won five of their six matches since the tournament and have played some free-flowing attacking football. They are joint-top of qualifying Group F coming into this one.
Sweden have done reasonably well this calendar year. They have six wins in their nine matches, but they are on the back foot in this group. Jan Andersson’s side are seven points behind the group leaders coming into this one, and they face an uphill battle to qualify.
The Belgians beat Sweden 3-0 in the reverse fixture back in March. Tedesco has been keen to ensure his side attack with real impetus, which is reflected in their goals scored. His team are averaging 2.67 goals per game during his tenure thus far. They are conceding just 0.5 goals per game over that period.
Sweden have kept just one clean sheet in their last five matches, and that was against Estonia. This bet has landed in four of their previous five games, where they have been priced between 4.50 and 7.00 to win on the 1×2 market. Their opponents are averaging 2.8 goals per game in those matches.
- Selection: Belgium To Win & Belgium To Score Over 1 Goal

England vs Italy: England’s Chance for Revenge
European Championship Qualifiers, Tuesday, October 17th, 19:45 (UK)
England are in a commanding position in the group, but they won’t want to loosen their grip on the top spot with a slip-up against the Italians. Gareth Southgate’s side are six points ahead of Italy, but they will want to exorcise the demons of the Euro 2020 final as Italy return to the scene of the final.
Italy have endured a challenging period since that triumph in the European Championship. Roberto Mancini left his post to coach Saudi Arabia, and the Italian FA have threatened legal action. Sandro Tonali and Nicolo Zaniolo have been sent home from this squad after a probe into alleged betting activity.
England beat Italy 2-1 in the reverse fixture and are the favourites here. The three Lions have won their two home matches in qualifying so far by an aggregate score of 9-0. Southgate’s men hammered an in-form Scotland 3-1 in their last game, and they should get the job done here.
Luciano Spalletti has drawn one and won one since taking over from Roberto Mancini. He guided Napoli to the title last season, but the early stages of his time with the national team have been tumultuous, to say the least. The Italians drew their most recent away match with Macedonia, and the absence of Tonali and Zaniolo only hurts their chances here.
- Selection: England To Win
- Best Odds: 1.70
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 8/10
