The Bundesliga, Serie A and La Liga all feature in Scott Thornton’s European Props acca this week.

In Germany, we’re backing Stuttgart to build on their win over Juventus when they face Holstein Kiel. The other Bundesliga fixture is Union Berlin vs Eintracht Frankfurt. Parma vs Empoli is our first game in Italy before Inter and Juventus lock horns. El Classico tops the billing in Spain but there is also an interesting betting angle for Getafe vs Valencia.

Acca odds: 33.04

Stuttgart vs Holstein Kiel: Kiel Under the Cosh

Germany, Bundesliga, Saturday, 27th October, 14:30 (UK)

Stuttgart finished 2nd last season but they have had a shaky start this term. They’ve recorded just two wins in their seven league matches, which is largely due to their shaky defence. They were beaten 4-0 by Bayern last weekend but bounced back with an impressive 1-0 win over Juventus in the Champions League.

Holstein Kiel find themselves 17th in the league with a points tally of two. Only Bochum have picked up fewer points. Surprisingly, one of Marcel Rapp’s side’s points came thanks to a 1-1 draw away at Leverkusen. They will be hoping to shock another big team here.

Sebastian Hoeneß’s side are known for playing attacking football. They racked up 22 shots in Turin on Tuesday night. Stuttgart have also had the third most shots in the Bundesliga this season with an average of 15.43 per game. This increases to 21.67 when playing at home.

Kiel are conceding an average of 18.29 shots per game in the league, only two sides have afforded their opponents more opportunities to shoot.

  • Selection: Over 18.5 Shots For Stuttgart (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.80

  • Stake: 8/10

Union Berlin vs Eintracht Frankfurt: The Away Side Can Make it an Entertaining Clash

Germany, Bundesliga, Sunday, 27th October, 12:30 (UK)

Union Berlin played Champions League football last season but were also fortunate to avoid the relegation playoff. They finished level on points with Bochum, who finished 16th. Union have no such worries this term. They are 5th after seven matches.

Eintracht Frankfurt come into this game a point behind Union. Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen are the only teams who have earned a victory over Eintracht thus far. They will be hoping to bounce back immediately after last weekend’s defeat against Alonso’s men.

Union’s matches have seen the fewest shots in the Bundesliga this season with 22.43 on average. However, there were 27 shots the last time they squared off against Frankfurt.

Dino Topmoller’s side’s matches saw the fewest attempts in the Bundesliga in the last campaign but that has flipped right on its head in the early part of the current season. Frankfurt matches have seen 32.29 shots on average. Over 25.5 shots has won in all seven of their Bundesliga matches.

  • Selection: Over 25.5 Shots In The Match (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.83

Parma vs Empoli: Two Teams Unable to Shackle Their Opponents

Italy, Serie A, Sunday, 27th October, 11:30 (UK)

Parma earned promotion from Serie B last season so survival is the aim. They sit just outside the relegation zone after picking up seven points from their opening eight games. It looks as though it could be a difficult season for Pecchia’s team but they are seemingly up for the fight.

Empoli are 11th in the table but are just three points above Sunday’s opponents. The bottom half of Serie A is highly congested so the next few weeks should be intriguing.

Fabio Pecchia’s side have been willing to attack since being promoted. They are averaging more shots per game than the likes of Napoli and Juventus. Nevertheless, they still have to soak up a lot of pressure so their matches have seen 30.75 shots on average, the second most in the top tier of Italian football. There have been 26 shots or more in all four of their home matches.

Empoli have conceded the third most shots in the division with an average of 15.12 so there should be ample shooting opportunities for Parma. The Azzuri have struggled to conjure up shooting opportunities of their own but that shouldn’t be an issue against a Parma side that have shown defensive frailties.

  • Selection: Over 25.5 Shots In The Match (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.80
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Inter Milan vs Juventus: Title Hopefuls Engaged in Tactical Battle

Italy, Serie A, Sunday, 27th October, 17:00 (UK)

Inter are two points behind Napoli, the league leaders, and a point ahead of Juventus coming into this game. Simone Inzaghi’s team were the runaway winners of the Scudetto last season but this title race promises to be far more competitive.

Thiago Motta has made a solid start to life in Turin but Juventus did suffer their first competitive defeat of the season when they were beaten by Stuttgart midweek. Nevertheless, Juve have conceded just one goal in eight league matches and this should be a closely contested affair.

Inzaghi’s side’s matches this season have seen 26.38 shots on average but the numbers in clashes with Juventus are far lower. The last five head-to-heads between these sides have seen an average of 20.4 shots.

Juventus have been defensively solid, conceding the fewest shots in Serie A by some distance with an average of 6.38 per game. However, their attacking output has also left a lot to be desired. The Old Lady are averaging just 12.75 attempts per game.

  • Selection: Under 23.5 Shots In The Match (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.80
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Real Madrid vs Barcelona: El Classico Bucks Real Trend

Spain, La Liga, Saturday, 26th October, 20:00 (UK)

Real Madrid fell two goals behind against Borussia Dortmund before going on to record an emphatic 5-2 win. Carl Ancelotti’s men need to mount a comeback in La Liga. They come into the first El Classico of the season three points behind their great rivals.

Barcelona beat another German giant in the Champions League. They netted four goals past Bayern Munich to continue their wonderful start under Hansi Flick. The new manager has transformed the Blaugrana in a short period of time and now he will look to end their four-game losing streak against Real.

Los Blancos’ matches have seen the fewest throws in the league this season with an average over 30.8 but backing over 31.5 looks a solid bet due to the recent numbers in El Classicos. This bet has won in the last four encounters between Real and Barcelona in La Liga.

Hansi Flick’s side’s league matches have seen 34.6 throws on average. This increases to 37.17 in their games on the road and there has been 32 or more in all seven of those.

  • Selection: Over 31.5 Throws In The Match (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.72
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Getafe vs Valencia: Shots at a Premium at Estadio Coliseum

Spain, La Liga, Sunday, 27th October, 15:15 (UK)

Getafe started the season with their squad down to barebones. Players have slowly returned to fitness but it hasn’t paid dividends in terms of results. The team have just one win but are outside of the relegation zone thanks to six draws.

Valencia are also struggling to get going. They sit rock bottom of La Liga and have a solitary win like Getafe. Baraja’s team can go level on points with their opponents if they can secure a rare win at this ground.

Geta Azulones have adopted a defensive approach. There isn’t an abundance of goals in their ranks so they need to remain solid. As a result, they have conceded the joint fewest shots in La Liga with an average of 8.4 per game, the same as Barcelona. They have played five home matches thus far and nobody has managed to have more than nine shots against them. Those games have seen Getafe concede just five shots per game on average.

Ruben Baraja’s side have had the third-fewest attempts in the division with an average of 9.5 per game. This drops to seven per game when playing away from the Mestalla. Moreover, Valencia haven’t had nine shots or more in any of their last seven against Getafe at this ground.

  • Selection: Under 9.5 Shots For Valencia (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.80
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10
