Inter Milan vs Torino: Inter Shot Count Down From Last Season
Italy, Serie A, Saturday, 5th October, 19:45 (UK)
Inter Milan won Serie A with ease last season, finishing 19 points of AC Milan, their city rivals who finished in 2nd place. Simone Inzaghi’s side are the favourites to win the Scudetto once again but they have stuttered at the start of this campaign. The Nerazzurri have 11 points so far, leaving them in 4th place.
Il Toro come into this clash level on points with Inter. Their five-league match unbeaten run came to an end as they succumbed to a 3-2 defeat against Lazio last weekend but they have still made an impressive start.
Inzaghi’s team haven’t looked their usual lethal selves of late and they are averaging 14.33 shots per Serie A game as a result. This drops to 12.33 attempts per game if we only use the data from their three home matches in the league. They haven;t exceeded the 13-shot mark in any of those outings.
In the last five head-to-heads between Torino and Inter, the Nerazzurri have had 15 shots per game on average. Under 16.5 shots for Inter has won in four of those games.
- Selection: Under 16.5 Shots For Inter (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 1.90

Juventus vs Cagliari: Shots at a Premium for the Old Lady
Italy, Serie A, Sunday, 6th October, 11:30 (UK)
Thiago Motta is enjoying life in Turin. He is still yet to taste defeat at Juventus boss and they come into this weekend on the back of a 3-2 away win over RB Leipzig in the Champions League. The Old Lady are yet to concede a goal in Serie A this season.
Cagliari snatched their first league win of the season last weekend as Roberto Piccoli scored the winning goal against Parma in the 87th minute. They have another away game on Sunday but a trip to the Allianz Stadium should prove to be a sterner test.
Juventus haven’t found it easy to create chances this season. Their average shot count of 10.83 is the fifth lowest in Serie A and they haven’t exceeded the 15 shots mark in any of their six league games. Motta’s men had to fight back from a goal behind with 10 men to win midweek so fatigue could come into play here.
Rossoblu have conceded an average of 14.33 shots per game this season. Juventus managed just 11 shots the last time these teams squared off.
- Selection: Under 15.5 Shots For Juventus (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 1.80

- Stake: 8/10
Monza vs Roma: Momentum is Key for Juric
Italy, Serie A, Sunday, 6th October, 17:00 (UK)
Monza are bottom of the league with three points and their fans will be fearing the worst. They haven’t won a league game since the 16th of March. They were beaten 2-0 by Napoli last weekend but three draws mean they aren’t too far away from 17th at this early stage.
Roma took the controversial decision to sack Daniel De Rossi a few weeks ago. The former club captain was a popular figure after taking over from Jose Mourinho last season but he wasn’t given the chance to make amends for the team’s slow start to this campaign. Ivan Juric has come in and won both of his Serie A matches in charge.
Alessandro Nesta is in charge of Monza. His side have conceded an average of 13.67 shots per game in Serie A to this point. however, they have conceded 15.5 shots on average in their last four games against Roma.
I Giallorossi have had the most attempts in the Italian top flight after six games. They are averaging 17.17 per match and have had 15 or more in five of those.
- Selection: Over 14.5 Shots For Roma (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 2.00
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 8/10
Bochum vs Wolfsburg: Plenty of Attempts When These Teams go Toe-to-Toe
Germany, Bundesliga, Saturday, 5th October, 14:30 (UK)
Bochum escaped relegation via the agony of the playoff last season and they have had a slow start once again. The team’s only point came thanks to a 2-2 draw at home to Holstein Kiel, the only team who are below them in the table.
Wolfsburg will also have concerns with how poorly they’ve started the season. They have just four points with their only win coming against Holstein Kiel. Die Wolfe were challenging for a European place as recently as the 2022/23 season but that seems a long way off.
Die Unabsteigbaren’s matches saw the most shots in the Bundesliga last season with an average of 31.24. That number has remained high in the early stages this term, with an average of 30.6 when they take to the field.
Ralph Hassenhuttl’s side’s matches have seen an average of 27 shots this season. However, there have been 36 and 39 shots on Wolfsburg’s last two visits to this ground.
- Selection: Over 28.5 Shots In The Match (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 1.72
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 8/10
Union Berlin vs Borussia Dortmund: Lower Line Presents an Opportunity
Germany, Bundesliga, Saturday, 5th October, 14:30 (UK)
Union Berlin had a torrid time last season. They found themselves in the group stages of the Champions League whilst battling it out near the bottom of the Bundesliga. Thankfully, they have started this season much brighter, picking up eight points from their first five matches.
Borussia Dortmund reached the Champions League final but could only manage 5th place in the league last term. Their only loss in their eight competitive matches this season is a 5-1 defeat away to Stuttgart so they are just three points off top.
Bo Svenson took over Union Berlin in the summer and their matches have seen the fewest shots in the Bundesliga so far with an average of 21.8. However, the line set by bet365 is fairly low and Union’s clashes with Dortmund tend to see plenty of shots. This bet has won on four of the last five occasions where they have hosted Dortmund.
Dortmund’s league matches have seen 24.4 shots on average, just below the required mark for this bet to land.
- Selection: Over 24.5 Shots In The Match (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 1.83
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 7/10
Eintracht Frankfurt vs Bayern Munich: Capable Frankfurt to Make a Game of it
Germany, Bundesliga, Sunday, 6th October, 16:30 (UK)
Eintracht Frankfurt recorded a memorable 5-1 win over Bayern Munich in this fixture last season. Dino Toppmoller’s side have also made a fantastic start to the current season, losing just one of their seven competitive matches across all competitions. Their good form should give them some confidence as they gear up to face Vincent Kompany’s side.
Bayern failed to win silverware last season and the prolonged hunt for a new manager dampened spirits at the club. However, Kompany has made an instant impact and the team are top, one point ahead of Frankfurt coming into this one.
Toppmoller’s side’s matches this season have seen an average of 32 attempts per game, more than any other team’s in the Bundesliga. This is a stark contrast to last season where Eintracht Frankfurt’s matches saw the fewest shots in the league.
Kompnay’s side’s matches have seen an average of 24 shots. Bayern are contributing with 18.6 of those and they should concede more against a capable Frankfurt side. There were 30 and 34 shots in the meetings between these sides last season.
- Selection: Over 27.5 Shots In The Match (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 2.00
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 10/10
