England vs Germany Bet Builder: Sunday, July, 31st

For those who are looking for England vs Germany bet builder tips, you have certainly come to the right place. Because with this upcoming encounter acting as the culmination of this year’s European Championships, Sunday will offer either a party on home soil or a second summer of international despair.

Because although England have swept up almost all before them, they have one more hurdle to clear. A hurdle that is not going to be easy, even with home advantage afforded to the Lionesses.

England vs Germany Preview

Sunday, July, 31st, 17:00 (UK)

This is it. One more match to decide who conquers the Women’s game on a European frontier. With England and Germany meeting in the final of these championships 13 years ago, the former will have something of a score to settle.

Because although England’s current crop were mainly in their formative years in 2009, a 6-2 final defeat to the Germans is still something of an international blemish. However, that was then and this is now.

The now, which has steamrollered all of their opposition in 2022 and although Sweden were set to offer a stern test on Tuesday, they were simply blown away at Bramall Lane. While it was a win that has only added more belief within the England camp.

Belief that will be harnessed by manager Sarina Wiegman but will also need to be tempered to a certain degree. While England are the favourites to win on Sunday, they cannot simply turn up to the biggest stage and think the job is done.

Especially as Germany has their own designs of victory on Sunday. While after edging past France on Wednesday night, manager Martina Voss-Tecklenburg and her players know that they are maybe 90 minutes away from returning to Europe’s top step.

A step that they have built for themselves in the past couple of decades and after winning six of the past seven editions of the European Championships, their English counterparts are going to have to bring everything and more to Wembley.

England vs Germany Stats & Facts

  • Germany beat England 6-2 in the Euro 2009 final.
  • England have won each of their last 11 international outings.
  • While they are unbeaten in their last 19 (W17 D2)
  • Germany have won their last six international outings and have only conceded one goal.

England vs Germany Best Bet

Before Sunday’s clash gets underway, I have placed my faith in England. Faith that we’ll finally see the Lionesses win a first major international trophy. While for them to achieve this, I believe that Beth Mead will find herself on the scoresheet.

Especially as both her and Alexandra Popp currently find themselves on six goals each. This means the race for the tournament Golden Boot offers a neat subplot at the weekend.

For those who are interested in this side bet, you can currently back Mead to earn this personal accolade at odds of 1.90. While by comparison, her German counterpart Popp is priced at 1.80.

Whether this means both teams find the net on Sunday remains to be seen and if this is the case, extra time or even penalties may be required. Although I have backed England to win at Wembley, I have played it safe and added a lifting of the trophy to my slip.

For those who believe that penalties are going to be required, you can back either nation to win this way at odds of 10.00. By the same token, if you think the job will be done by either in 120 minutes, it is 12.00 for an England win and 13.00 for a German victory.

However, there are still a couple more components for my Sunday bet builder and with it being the final, nothing will be left in the dressing room. Which means a caution at the very least will be awarded somewhere.
Add no more 10 total corners into the mix and this adds the fourth and final layer to my bet builder. One that if all four come good, is currently prepared to offer up the tempting odds of 8.50.

  • Beth Mead to score for England
  • England to lift the trophy
  • Under 11 total corners
  • Over 0 total cards

Bet Builder odds: 8.50

Odds via Bet 365 as at 09:45 Friday July 29th 2022. Odds may now differ.
