Selection 1: Barrow v Bradford City – Bradford to Win at 3.00
The billing
Two sides hotly tipped for a promotion challenge this season who are having underwhelming campaigns in the bottom half.
Hosts’ form
Barrow had hoped that 2-0 wins over Swindon and Ipswich in the league and FA Cup would breathe new life into their season.
That notion, however, has been halted by a loss at Tranmere by the same scoreline, followed by a goalless draw with strugglers Oldham, which saw the team booed at full-time.
Visitors’ form
Bradford have lost the same number of games as second-placed Northampton, but won just one more than bottom side Oldham.
Derek Adams’ side are the division’s draw specialists, but that’s a tag they will be keen relinquish in 2022.
The Tactics Board
Barrow employed the same pattern of play for the whole game on Wednesday: the ball went out to the wing-back, Connor Brown or Patrick Brough, who tried a lofty diagonal only for the intended target, Josh Gordon, to lose his aerial duel.
Yann Songo’o, if he drops into defence out of possession, will have the beating of Gordon, so this game will be defined on whether Mark Cooper can bring fresh ideas to the table.

Selection 2: Hartlepool United v Oldham Athletic – Draw at 3.40
The billing
The visitors have suffered the most defeats in League Two this season and the hosts, the second-most. At least with this one, they can’t BOTH lose…
Hosts’ form
Hartlepool had some clear patterns of play in the first three months of the season, but Dave Challinor’s exit has given way to some disjointed showings.
Wing-backs Jamie Sterry and David Ferguson are either not getting involved as much as they were, or not being released with quality diagonals.
Visitors’ form
Oldham have been League Two’s worst defensive side since the start of last season, so they will have valued the clean sheet at Barrow on Wednesday even if the three points did not come with it – nor a move off the bottom of the table.
The Tactics Board
Neither side have truly got to grips with new patterns of play under new management, so a stalemate would not be a huge surprise.

Selection 3: Swindon Town v Northampton Town – Northampton to win at 3.60
The billing
Two clubs who have mirrored one another’s trajectory in recent years: progress after a change of manager in 2018-19, promotion in 2019-20 and relegation in 2020-21. So, what about 2021-22… promotion again?!
Hosts’ form
Swindon have clung onto a place in the top seven, despite a return of two points from their last four league games, including an uninspiring 0-0 draw with Stevenage last time out.
Visitors’ form
Northampton have acquired the knack of edging tight encounters recently, winning four games in succession – three 2-1s and one 1-0.
Centre-backs Jon Guthrie and Fraser Horsfall have been crucial for Jon Brady’s side, too, scoring nine goals between them as well as being part of a tight defensive unit.
The Tactics’ Board
16 Swindon players were out for COVID reasons over Christmas, meaning no game for two weeks, and that showed in Wednesday’s performance, so the timing of the fixture may suit Northampton.
Get the pressing right and the Cobblers could nick the points in Wiltshire.

What is an EFL Acca?
An EFL Acca is a type of betting that involves combining several selections across different matches with one single stake. An acca or accumulator usually has at least four selections but it can include many many more. An EFL acca is one such bet that only involves matches from the EFL or English Football League, the second to the fourth tiers of English football. The benefits of an EFL acca are that the odds can be massive with a very small stake as the odds for all selections are multiplied together. Every pick needs to win or your EFL acca will lose.
