Peterborough vs Luton Best Bet
Tues, 5th April, 19:45 (UK time)
Luton continues to impress. The Hatters managed to muscle in on the scoresheet twice against a visiting Millwall on Saturday. That has only happened in 3 of 16 Millwall fixtures in 2022.
Gary Rowett’s side have proved defensively sound and tough to break down, but not for Luton.
Following a similar route for midweek, Luton to grab another two strikes comes in at 2.10. Against a lowly Peterborough side, it seems somewhat generous.
The Posh’s 0-4 defeat against Middlesborough was humbling on the weekend. It was a performance to forget, but one that has been all too familiar this campaign.
With Luton chasing the playoffs and the hosts scrapping for survival, I expect an open game here. Peterborough need a win, desperately, something that should play into Luton’s hands.
The Posh have conceded 2+ goals in 59% of Championship fixtures this season. Only Bristol City have seen more with 63%.
Luton’s 58 goals is the third-highest total in the division. Fulham and Bournemouth topple the Hatters in the goals stakes, as to be expected. The lethality in Luton’s squad to serve up such a total after 39 games is remarkable.
It’s no wonder, then, that Luton’s 18 of 39 games where they have recorded multiple goals is the fourth-highest in the Championship. Considering the opposition and what either side is fighting for, the 2.10 is hard to resist.
- Selection: Luton 2+ Goals
- Best Odds: 2.10 (Paddy Power/Betfair)
- Stakes: 10/10

Preston vs Blackpool Best Bet
Tues, 5th April, 19:45 (UK time)
I’ll be honest. I originally fancied there to be a hefty amount of bookings in Preston. Instead, the proposed Unders selection stood out a mile off when searching for a card angle into the game.
Make no mistake about it, this is a big fixture. Both sides will be hoping to piece together a late surge for the playoffs. Preston (15th) and Blackpool (14th) are neck and neck in the table, 10 and 11 points off the top six respectively.
It has the make-up of a feisty affair. The 10 cards in the October head-to-head suggest exactly that. However, looking at the statistics for all involved, the 10 brandished at Bloomfield Road was certainly an outlier.
Preston, on average, receives 1.78 cards per90, whilst Blackpool’s total comes to 1.94 cards per game.
Only 11% of Preston games have seen this Asian handicap lose. On the other hand, Blackpool hit six or more cards in just 29% of fixtures.
David Webb, the man with the whistle, has averaged 2.94 cards shown per90 across the last two campaigns. Focusing on this season in the second-tier specifically, Webb’s tally ramps up to 3.26.
The referee has handed out six or more cards in five of 30 fixtures this season. On three occasions Webb would have returned a refund with this handicap, with 21 of 30 banking profits.
It’s a little risky given the circumstances. Yet, needing a sizeable six to lose and five for a refund is something I’m willing to sign up for at 1.80.
- Selection: Under 5 Asian Cards
- Best Odds: 1.80 (bet365)
- Stakes: 10/10

Sheffield United vs QPR Best Bet
Tues, 5th April, 19:45 (UK time)
Here is another monumental game in the Championship. Most game-weeks at this stage of the season will likely serve up a six-pointer, and that’s exactly what we have in store here.
Two sides meet with Premier League ambitions, recently discarded from the top 6. Just seven points separate Huddersfield in 3rd and QPR in 9th. Sheffield United (8th) sit just two points ahead of their Tuesday evening opponents.
Cards should be on the agenda with the coveted prize they both so adoringly desire up for grabs. The 1.83 for 3+ bookings in the game and a card each in the second half is a standout price for me.
Darren Bond takes officiating duties at Bramall Lane. The referee’s 19 yellow cards and one red in his five most-recent Championship fixtures caught my eye.
In Bond’s seven Fixtures at this level this term, both teams to receive a card after the break landed in 42% of games. Over 1.5 cards in the second half romped home in 71%, showing how Bond routinely manages the game in the second half.
Both of the teams involved average over three total cards per game. In the second half of games, the Blades’ 1.22 cards, and QPR’s 1.56, suggest we should be in good hands.
- Selection: Over 2 Total Cards and Card each in Second Half
- Best Odds: 1.83 (bet365)
- Stakes: 10/10

WHAT IS A CHAMPIONSHIP ACCA?
A Championship acca is an accumulator bet, a type of bet that consists of several selections across different matches that are combined together into one single bet. An acca usually consists of at least four selections but many more can be included. There will be odds for the single bet as a whole which is calculated by multiplying the odds of all of the selections. A Championship acca is one of the most popular ways to bet. This is the case because they can create potentially massive odds for a small stake. Many punters choose to create Championship accas which is what we have created here. If one of these selections loses then the Championship acca will lose. This type of bet needs every selection to win in order to succeed.
