Championship football returns, and with that, as does bettingexpert News best bets. Siding with automatic promotion hopefuls and those threatened with relegation is our approach this weekend. With just a handful of fixtures left, there’s certainly all to play for at both ends.

  • Bournemouth vs Bristol City: Bournemouth and Over 1.5 Goals (1.70)
  • Derby vs Preston: Over 2.0 Asian Goal Line (1.85)
  • QPR vs Fulham: Fulham and Over 1.5 Goals (2.10)

Championship Treble Odds: 6.44

Bournemouth vs Bristol City Best Bet

Sat, 2nd April, 15:00 (UK time)

Bournemouth were ruthless in Huddersfield last time out, striking similarities to how they conducted themselves earlier on in the season.

A 0-3 win up against a stuttering Terriers side should provide the perfect ammunition for Bristol City’s visit. The Robins arrive with the unwanted tag of conceding multiple strikes more than any team in the championship. Shipping 2+ goals in 15/19 away fixtures suggests what might lie ahead.

Goals have been around every corner during Bristol City’s campaign. In 39 Championship fixtures, 33 have seen over 1.5 goals.

Likewise, in goal-fuelled fashion, The Vitality Stadium has witnessed over 1.5 goals in 17 of 18 of Bournemouth’s home matches. January’s 0-1 loss to Hull is the only exception.

With The Cherries best priced at 1.44 to clinch three points on Saturday, we’ll need to get a little creative. Considering the over 1.5 goals statistics are heavily in both sides’ favour, it seems like a wise inclusion.

At 1.83, grouping the two together provides a very back-able price. Bournemouth seeks automatic promotion on the south coast and I sense they are starting to find their rhythm.

Bristol City, on the other hand, have lost five of their last eight. Sat in 18th position and very much safe from trouble, it’s Bournemouth whose focus must not falter.

  • Selection: Bournemouth Win and Over 1.5 Goals
  • Best Odds: 1.70 (bet365)
  • Stakes: 10/10

Derby vs Preston Best Bets

Sat, 2nd April, 15:00 (UK time)

The prospect of League One football looms for a dejected sporting institution very much in danger. Rooney’s men have fought courageously to date, but the fight for safety becomes more perilous by the day. Yet, if there is one place where fortunes may change, it’s in Derbyshire.

Derby’s pride park performances stand head and shoulders above their displays on the road. Scoring an average of 1.36 per90 in Derby, there are often goals afoot on familiar turf.

Ryan Lowe’s Preston may just compliment Derby’s thirst for goals at home. Since swapping Plymouth for Preston, the Scouse head coach has overseen 18 goals scored in 17 fixtures. The 0.94 goals conceded per90 under his stewardship also suggests Lowe’s Preston are as leaky as they are clinical.

The Asian 2.0 goal line on bet365 returns full stakes if the game ends with two goals. Any more than two and this wager transforms into a successful one. At 1.85, I think the bookies may have this one wrong, underestimating the game state and the need for goals here.

With Derby desperate for a result and Preston capable of finding the net, amassing at least two goals seems doable. The security of a returned stake for a couple of strikes should provide a level of comfort, happening in 68% of fixtures at Pride Park this campaign.

  • Selection: Over 2.0 Asian Goal Line
  • Best Odds: 1.85 (bet365)
  • Stakes: 10/10

QPR vs Fulham Best Bets

Sat, 2nd April, 15:00 (UK time)

Three points garnered from the last five fixtures have, unwillingly, ushered QPR outside of the playoff places. It’s a deflating period for all involved with the R’s. The four losses from said five games now overshadowing hopes of a top-six finish.

With Fulham coming to town, the rigours of the Championship show no signs of easing. The Cottagers also head into the weekend on the back of an imperfect two-game prequel.

Unnervingly for QPR, Fulham’s away record is the best in the league this season. After dropping five points in two games, don’t be surprised to see Marco Silva’s men out for blood.

Fulham to win is currently best priced at 1.70. Furthermore, with both eager to put points on the board, this has the potential to be an open game. If the deadlock is broken early, I can’t envisage a 1-0 scoreline between the sides.

Adding over 1.5 goals to the bet, just like we’ve done at The Vitality Stadium, gets our selection to 2.10. Both Fulham and QPR rank in the top five for over 1.5 goals banking in the Championship this term.

Fulham have witnessed over 1.5 strikes in 86% of fixtures, whilst the hosts fall just short at 79% themselves. That 2.10 at bet365 is inviting, indeed.

  • Selection: Fulham Win and Over 1.5 Goals
  • Best Odds: 2.05 (bet365)
  • Stakes: 10/10

WHAT IS A CHAMPIONSHIP ACCA?

A  Championship acca is an accumulator bet, a type of bet that consists of several selections across different matches that are combined together into one single bet. An acca usually consists of at least four selections but many more can be included. There will be odds for the single bet as a whole which is calculated by multiplying the odds of all of the selections. A Championship acca is one of the most popular ways to bet. This is the case because they can create potentially massive odds for a small stake. Many punters choose to create Championship accas which is what we have created here. If one of these selections loses then the Championship acca will lose. This type of bet needs every selection to win in order to succeed.
