Selection 1: Huddersfield Town v Swansea City – Huddersfield to Win at 2.63

The billing

A side in transition against a side that have benefited from a season of transition.

Hosts’ form

Huddersfield currently occupy the last Play-Off spot in the Championship, albeit having played one game more than seventh-placed Middlesbrough, who were the last team to beat Carlos Corberan’s side – the Terriers are unbeaten in seven.

Visitors’ form

Russ Martin will need to address a soft underbelly if he wants to turn Swansea into Play-Off contenders, a process more likely to happen this season than next. The Swans have lost three in sucession.

The Tactics Board

Ball-playing defender Levi Colwill, organiser Tom Lees, midfield livewire Lewis O’Brien and wing-back Sorba Thomas will all be determined to help Town on to a crucial victory in the Play-Off scramble, especially spurred on by a sell-out crowd.

Prediction & Best Bet

The 2.63 on a Huddersfield victory is exactly the same price as is available on the away win, which is remarkable given that these sides are separated by 11 places.

Selection 2: Middlesbrough vs Reading – Middlesbrough to Win at 1.50

The billing

A team in the best moment of the season so far against another in their worst.

Hosts’ form

Middlesbrough have taken 16 points from their previous six games and while a glance at the table shows Chris Wilder’s side outside the Play-Off spots, they would be in on PPG.

Visitors’ form

Reading have been plagued by injuries this season, having a double-figured number of senior players absent throughout – with the identity of those players changing.

Those mitigating factors only go so far for Veljko Paunovic, who has overseen two embarrassing results: an FA Cup loss to National League North side Kidderminster and a 7-0 hammering by Fulham.

The Tactics Board

Middlesbrough’s right-sided quartet of Anfernee Dijksteel, Isaiah Jones, Matt Crooks and Andraz Sporar can seriously threaten opponents; the dream would be to find symmetry on the left. Nonetheless, Boro should dictate terms against Reading, who would be happy to escape Teesside with a point.

Prediction & Best Bet

The hosts are heavy favourites here at 1.50 and it’s difficult to argue with that.

Selection 3: Millwall vs Nottingham Forest – Nottingham Forest to Win at 3.30

The billing

The clash of the Play-Off outsiders.

Hosts’ form

The Championship’s draw specialists have turned into the division’s kings of inconsistency. Millwall drew nine of their first 19, but their last five games have followed the sequence of one loss, one win, one loss, one win then one loss… Gary Rowett hopes that pattern can continue for at least one more game.

Visitors’ form

Back-to-back league defeats should not drastically alter Forest’s status as one of the Championship’s form sides, and a heroic 1-0 FA Cup victory over Arsenal has done their momentum no harm. The additions of Steve Cook, Richie Laryea and Keinan Davis all look shrewd ones for Steve Cooper’s side.

The Tactics Board

Forest’s back-three could be the strongest in the Championship, blending the aggression of Joe Worrall, the organisation qualities of Cook and the assurance of Scott McKenna. Between them, the trio can keep Benik Afobe and Tom Bradshaw quiet.

Prediction & Best Bet

Forest are priced as outsiders here at 3.30, which is hugely surprising given their form since Cooper took charge.

Selection 4: Queens Park Rangers vs West Bromwich Albion – Yes on BTTS at 1.83

The billing

The “Blimey, Fulham and Bournemouth look good, so maybe the best we can hope for is to cement our Play-Off spot nice and early” derby. Punchy.

Hosts’ form

QPR have lost goalkeeper Seny Dieng to injury, so have added 2013-14 Premier League Team of the Season contender David Marshall from Derby. The 36-year-old could be slightly rusty, though, having not played a competitive match for the Rams this term, as the Rs look to build on back-to-back wins.

Visitors’ form

Albion fans may be divided on head coach Valerien Ismael with the style of football being rather direct, but the board have backed the gegenpressing Frenchman. Daryl Dike has not only joined from Orlando City, having linked up with Ismael at Barnsley, but the 21-year-old USA international has done so on a four-and-a-half year contract, which is a big investment and commitment from the Baggies hierarchy.

The Tactics Board

West Brom are hoping Dike can give them the clinical, goalscoring presence they have missed at times this season, with Jordan Hugill and others proving wasteful in front of goal, thus increasing the burden on wide forwards like Callum Robinson and Karlan Grant.

Prediction & Best Bet

QPR have individual quality in attack with Chris Willock and Ilias Chair, but Dike can make a big difference for Albion, too. We like the 1.83 about Both Teams To Score.

What is an EFL Acca?

An EFL Acca is a type of betting that involves combining several selections across different matches with one single stake. An acca or accumulator usually has at least four selections but it can include many many more. An EFL acca is one such bet that only involves matches from the EFL or English Football League, the second to the fourth tiers of English football. The benefits of an EFL acca are that the odds can be massive with a very small stake as the odds for all selections are multiplied together. Every pick needs to win or your EFL acca will lose.
