Selection 1: Birmingham City vs Barnsley Best Bet – Birmingham to Win
The billing
Two teams on awful runs of form looking to remedy their troubles.
Hosts’ form
A run of one win in 10 league games has seen Lee Bowyer’s side plummet down the standings. The signings of defender Teden Mengi, dribbler Onel Hernandez and creator Taylor Richards offer hope, but relegation concerns would be greater were it not for the form of those at the bottom…
Visitors’ form
Barnsley have a paltry two league victories to their name all season and thus find themselves eight points off safety with a game in hand.
Survival remains achievable for Poya Asbaghyi’s side, on paper at least, but the 36 points required to hit the 50 mark looks a very tall order with just 22 games remaining.
The Tactics Board
Birmingham’s better periods within games recently have tended to come when they have operated with a back-four, rather than the three Lee Bowyer starts with.
Saturday may see Bowyer drop his preferred 3-5-2, though, in favour of a 4-4-2 with Scott Hogan playing off target man Lukas Jutkiewicz and Onel Hernandez shifting to the flank, perhaps alternating sides with Jeremie Bela.
The problem for Barnsley will be stopping Jutkiewicz and Hogan getting into one-on-one duels with centre-backs Mads Andersen and Michal Helik, in the absence of a destructive, Alex Mowatt figure in midfield.
Prediction & Best Bet
Birmingham look well-placed to end their wretched run against the Championship’s table-proppers, priced for victory at 1.80.

Selection 2: Coventry City vs Queens Park Rangers Best Bet – Yes on Both Teams to Score
The billing
Victories for both sides last time out adds intrigue to a key game in the Play-Off scramble.
Hosts’ form
Coventry’s 4-1 victory at Peterborough was the first time they had recorded a league win in 70 days, due to a combination of postponements and a six-game winless run.
Visitors’ form
Thanks to Charlie Austin’s late winner against former club West Brom last time out, QPR have enjoyed three league wins in succession.
Whether Mark Warburton’s side can come into the equation for automatic promotion remains to be seen but they look well-placed to cement a top six berth.
The Tactics Board
Mark Robins may stick to the same XI that recorded an emphatic victory last time out, with versatile midfielder Jordan Shipley kept on at left wing-back in the absence of Ian Maatsen, although the 3-4-2-1 may turn into a 3-4-1-2 later in the game when Viktor Gyokeres comes on to partner Matt Godden.
The good news for Robins is that QPR magician Ilias Chair is currently away with the African Cup of Nations, but the visitors still have quality in target man Lyndon Dykes, attacking midfielder Chris Willock and others.
Prediction & Best Bet
Chair’s absence represents a loss for the visitors, but nonetheless there will be players on either side capable of doing damage, so 1.73 looks a solid bet on Both Teams To Score.
Selection 3: Stoke City vs Fulham Best Bet – Over 2.5 Goals
The billing
Can anyone stop Fulham?
Hosts’ form
Who remembers those early ‘90s videos of Kevin Campbell linking up with Ian Wright for Arsenal?
The former’s son, Tyrese Campbell, and the latter’s grandson, Di’Margio Wright-Phillips, could be set to follow traditions by linking up for Stoke.
Wright-Phillips won man-of-the-match in last Sunday’s 2-0 victory at Hull, which Michael O’Neill hopes can see the Potters rekindle their Play-Off prospects.
Visitors’ form
Extraordinary is the word. 19 goals in their last three games.
Fulham are the sixth team in senior English league history to score six or more goals in three successive matches. Their tally in those games if extrapolated over a full season would give them 291 goals. Their goal difference of +47 is higher than the goals scored total for any other team in the Championship.
Whichever way one looks at it, Fulham have been sensational in the last three games and look well-placed to storm towards the title.
The Tactics Board
The Whites will dominate the ball while Stoke will have the unenviable task of keeping them out through a combination of intelligent pressing and defiant defending, mixed in with clinical finishing, good goalkeeping and a touch of fortune along the way.
Prediction & Best Bet
Over 2.5 goals at 2.1 looks a fantastic bet, given Fulham’s recent goal return – and the fact they have also conceded four goals in their previous two outings, which may be overlooked due to their astonishing goalscoring form.
Selection 4: Swansea City vs Preston North End Best Bet – Preston to Win
The billing
Led by talented young coaches, these two bottom half sides are seeking to build a side that can challenge in future seasons.
Hosts’ form
Swansea need approximately 47 points from their remaining 23 games to finish in the Play-Offs: title-winning form from a side that has accrued a solitary point from their previous four league encounters.
Visitors’ form
North End showed immense spirit to come back against Sheffield United in midweek, not only from two goals down with 20 minutes to play, but with 10 men, after Andrew Hughes’ sending off.
The Tactics Board
Russ Martin and Ryan Lowe are two managers with possession-heavy ideologies, although the former is arguably an even stauncher keep-ball connoisseur. Martin’s side will look to build patiently between Flynn Downes and Matt Grimes in midfield, hoping to eventually feed the ball into Oli Ntcham and Joel Piroe, but what North End proved last time out is that they can thrive, even when the game is not played entirely on their terms.
Prediction & Best Bet
North End look underrated at 3.50, especially considering their stark improvement under Ryan Lowe: plus, forward Emil Riis Jakobsen strikes fear into most opponents he comes up against this season.
Selection 5: West Bromwich Albion vs Peterborough United Best Bet – West Brom to Win
The billing
The last time these met was in the FA Cup in 2015-16, a match best remembered for then-Peterborough manager Graham Westley reacting to the sound of the ball being punctured by falling over comedically. Who’ll be shot down this time?
Hosts’ form
For much of the season, West Brom had been considered the likeliest threat to potential top two domination from Fulham and Bournemouth, but automatic promotion looks a stretch after Valerien Ismael’s side accrued two points from four league games.
Visitors’ form
Peterborough are in danger of the drop, largely due to their atrocious away form, with 11 road defeats in 12 for Darren Ferguson’s side. The record is worrying for the Posh, especially given that the strugglers lost 4-1 at home to Coventry last time out.
The Tactics Board
Ismael has lost the support of many Albion fans so far due to the direct style of football, but the hope here is that the introduction of Daryl Dike means they at least have a focal point who can facilitate that style, as the former Orlando City front-man did superbly under Ismael for a half-season at Barnsley.
Dike will look to pin himself up against physically weaker defenders like Josh Knight and Ronnie Edwards, before bringing the likes of Callum Robinson and Karlan Grant into play.
Prediction & Best Bet
It might not be pretty, but the Baggies should get the job done in this one to justify 1.36 quotes.

What is an EFL Acca?
An EFL Acca is a type of betting that involves combining several selections across different matches with one single stake. An acca or accumulator usually has at least four selections but it can include many many more. An EFL acca is one such bet that only involves matches from the EFL or English Football League, the second to the fourth tiers of English football. The benefits of an EFL acca are that the odds can be massive with a very small stake as the odds for all selections are multiplied together. Every pick needs to win or your EFL acca will lose.
