Manchester City vs RB Leipzig: City Can Tame the Bulls

Europe, Champions League, Tuesday, November 28th, 20:00 (UK)

Manchester City can wrap up the top spot in Group G on Tuesday night. Pep Guardiola’s side surrendered their top spot in the Premier League at the weekend after a home draw with Liverpool, but the level of performance will have pleased the manager.

Like City, RB Leipzig have also qualified for the knockout stages at this early stage. They have nine points, eight more than both Red Star Belgrade and Young Boys. Marco Rose’s side suffered a setback at the weekend, and it saw them fall out of the top four in the Bundesliga. Massive improvement is needed if they are to cause an upset at the Etihad.

Pep Guardiola’s side have been fantastic at home this season. The draw with Liverpool was the first time they have failed to win at the Etihad this season, but they dominated large periods. When City are home, their opponents average just 5.88 shots per game.

RB Leipzig have been averaging 13.8 shots per game this season, but they are up against it here. They had just three shots in the home defeat against City. The last time they visited this ground they had four shots.

  • Selection: Under 7.5 Shots For RB Leipzig
  • Best Odds: 1.72
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Barcelona vs Porto: Porto in the Firing Line

Europe, Champions League, Tuesday, November 28th, 20:00 (UK)

Barcelona are used to competing in the latter stage of this competition, but it has been a couple of years since they were genuine contenders. They come into this clash behind Porto on goals scored and will want to overtake their rivals with a convincing display.

Porto are 3rd in the Portuguese top flight and look set for a long campaign of battling tooth and nail with Benfica and Sporting. Defeat here would also mean they face a nervy final match day in the Champions League.

Xavi’s side scored the decisive goal just before the break in the 1-0 over Porto earlier in the group. The Catalan giants still went on to have 14 attempts in the match, despite defending a lead, and their shot line looks appealing here. Barcelona have been averaging 17 shots per game at the Camp Nou this season.

Porto’s opponents across their nine away matches in all competitions have been averaging 10.89 shots per game this season. However, they seldom take on a side that has the quality of Barcelona, so expect that line to be exceeded here.

  • Selection: Over 13.5 Shots For Barcelona
  • Best Odds: 1.72
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Galatasaray vs Manchester United: Onana Having an Impact

Europe, Champions League, Wednesday, November 29th, 17:45 (UK)

Galatasaray can take a huge stride towards the knockout stages with a win here. They won at Old Trafford earlier in the group stage and scored the crucial winning goal when their opponents were down to 10 men.

Manchester United are on a solid run of form on paper, but their defensive frailties remain. They afforded Everton plenty of opportunities at the weekend, but a resurgent Andre Onana was equal to it. They will need the Cameroonian keeper to have another big game here.

That leads us on to our betting angle quite nicely. Both of Galatasaray’s home Champions League matches so far have seen the opposition keeper make three saves. The opposition keeper has been averaging 3.4 saves per game across their 10 matches at RAMS Park this season.

Onana has recovered from his nightmare start in Manchester and is showing the form that led Erik Ten Hag to buy him. He made six saves at Goodison Park at the weekend and has been averaging 4.13 saves across United’s seven away matches this season.

  • Selection: Over 2.5 for Andre Onana
  • Best Odds: 1.83
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 9/10
