Scott Thornton is back with his Bundesliga props acca tips as we gear up for an exciting weekend in the German top flight.

We kick things off by focusing on the battle for survival. Koln hosts Bochum with Darmstatd heading to Mainz at the same time. Koln, Mainz and Darmstadt are in danger of being cut adrift in the bottom three, so we should see plenty of action. Saturday’s late kick-off is Dortmund vs Stuttgart with just four points separating them in the table.

Koln vs Bochum: Bochum Clear of the Bottom

Germany, Bundesliga, Saturday, 6th April, 14:30 (UK)

Koln need a win to keep their hopes of survival without a relegation playoff alive. They are seven points behind Bochum, who occupy 15th place in the Bundesliga. The home side have won just once in their last 14 competitive matches. They managed a 1-1 draw with Augsburg last weekend but only a win will do this time around.

Bochum’s last win came against Bayern Munich in the middle of February. They have lost four of their five matches since. This is a good opportunity to end their poor run. Thomas Letsch’s side beat Koln 2-20 in this fixture last season but could only earn a point in the reverse fixture in this campaign.

Timo Schultz’s side’s last league match saw 37 shots and we should see plenty here. Expect the home side to throw the kitchen sink at this one as they search for a crucial three points. There were 33 shots in their last home game and 36 shots when they faced Bochum earlier in the season.

Bochum’s Bundesliga matches this season have seen an average of 30.15 shots. Only Borussia Monchengladbach’s games have seen more. There were 33 shots in their draw against Darmstadt last weekend and they face another of the relegation candidates here.

Mainz vs Darmstadt: Do or Die for Darmstadt

Germany, Bundesliga, Saturday, 6th April, 14:30 (UK)

We are sticking with the relegation battle for our next bet. Mainz are currently 16th in the table which means they would feature in a relegation playoff at the end of the season if things stay as they are. This clash with the league’s bottom side is a great chance for them to put pressure on the teams above them.

Darmstadt are six points behind Mainz. Losing this one would all but condemn them to the second tier of German football. They drew 2-2 with Bochum last weekend but need to go all our for the three points here.

Mainz’s last five home matches have seen an average of 29.6 shots. They conceded 20 shots as they drew against RB Leipzig on the road last week and we should see plenty of attempts here.

Torsten Lieberknecht’s side have conceded the most shots in the league with an average of 17.04 per game. They have allowed the opposition to have 20 shots or more in four of their last five away matches. However, we are backing the match shot line here with the visitors having no choice but to go for it.

  • Selection: Over 28.5 Shots In The Match (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.90

Borussia Dortmund vs Stuttgart: Guirassy and Co. Can Thrive

Germany, Bundesliga, Saturday, 6th April, 17:30 (UK)

Borussia Dortmund take on Stuttgart in a huge fixture in the battle for a Champions League place. The home side could drop out of the top four this weekend if they suffer a third consecutive defeat against this opponent. Edin Terzic’s side beat Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena last weekend and will be hoping to carry that level of performance into this clash.

Stuttgart leads Dortmund by four points. Their journey from relegation battlers to top-four contenders has been a remarkable one. A win on Saturday would put them firmly in the driving seat as they aim to fend off the challenge of RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund.

Terzic’s side are conceding an average of 13.81 shots per league game this season. This drops in their home matches but they are facing one of the most lethal attacks in Germany here. Dortmund conceded 17 shots as they were eliminated from the DFB Pokal by Stuttgart in December. They conceded 22 shots in the last league meeting between these sides.

Stuttgart have won their last three league matches on the road and will show menace here. They have had 14 shots or more in five of their last six away matches in the Bundesliga.

  • Selection: Over 12.5 Shots For Stuttgart (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.80
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10
