BTTS Early Bird Acca Tips: Goals Galore In The Football League
We have three picks in this week’s BTTS Early Bird Acca Tips article across the English football pyramid as hoards of players return from the international break.
Our bets get underway on Friday night when Salford hosts promotion-chasing Notts County in League Two. We’ve also looked at Shrewsbury vs Bristol Rovers in League One before the South Wales Championship Derby takes centre stage. Cardiff and Swansea have made lacklustre starts to the season, and the result could have a considerable impact on the ambitions of each side this season.
- Early Bird Salford City vs Notts County: Over 2.5 Goals & Both Teams To Score
- Early Bird Shrewsbury vs Bristol Rovers: Both Teams To Score
- Early Bird Cardiff vs Swansea: Over 2.5 Goals & Both Teams To Score

Salford City vs Notts County: Hefty averages provide the backdrop to Friday night
England, League Two, Friday, September 15th, 19:45 (UK)
Salford have seven points at this stage and find themselves 18th in the table. They have failed to win any of their last five competitive matches, and they need to improve quickly to avoid slipping into the relegation zone.
Notts County dropped to 2nd after they drew against MK Dons last week. They were relegated from League One last season, but they look as though they are capable of bouncing straight back at this early stage of the season.
Salford are yet to keep a clean sheet so far this season. Their matches have seen plenty of goals with an average of 2.86 per game. This bet has landed in their last two home matches, with Niel Wood’s side losing 2-1 on both occasions.
This bet narrowly lost in Notts County’s last game, but there were plenty of chances for each team to snatch the win by grabbing the third goal of the match. Both teams have scored in six of Notts County’s league matches this season. Over this period, they have averaged 1.86 goals per game. Their opponents have scored 1.57.

Shrewsbury vs Bristol Rovers: Struggling Rovers Can Get on Scoresheet
England, League One, Saturday, September 16th, 15:00 (UK)
Shrewsbury are firmly in mid-table after six matches. They’ve picked up nine points, and the early signs are that they are at the same level as they were last season when they finished 12th.
Bristol Rovers are three points behind Shrewsbury heading into this match. The team are in danger of being dragged towards the relegation zone with a defeat. Like Shrewsbury, there may be little chance of Rovers troubling those challenging for the playoffs this season, but this game should still be end-to-end.
Matches including Saturday’s hosts haven’t been particularly goal-friendly this campaign, but this bet has won in the last three meetings with Bristol Rovers. They won this fixture 2-1 last season.
Both teams have scored in five of Bristol’s six matches in League One so far this season. This means that both teams to score has landed in 83% of their matches, the highest strike rate in the division. The team have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of those matches, and their only win of the season came on the road.
- Selection: Both Teams To Score
- Best Odds: 1.80

Cardiff vs Swansea: The Stage is Set for Fiery South Wales Derby
England, Championship, Friday, September 16th, 19:45 (UK)
Our final bet in this week’s early bird acca comes in the South Wales Derby. Cardiff host Swansea in what promises to be a fiercely entertaining affair on Saturday night. These games seldom kick off so late in the day, so the excitement should build throughout the day.
Cardiff have a dismal recent record against Swansea. They have lost the last four matches against their rivals, conceding 11. Two points separate these teams at this stage, with both likely set to be battling it out near the bottom this season.
When these sides faced off at the Cardiff City Stadium last season, Swansea won the game 3-2. We are hoping for another glut of goals here, and the early season form of both sides suggests we could see just that. So far, all of Cardiff’s league matches this season have seen three or more goals. Both teams have also scored in all of them.
Swansea matches have also seen plenty of goals. Both teams have scored in all five of their matches. They come into this match in the relegation zone, and they won’t want to be sent further into the abyss by their Welsh rivals.
- Selection: Over 2.5 Goals & Both Teams To Score
- Best Odds: 2.20
- Bookmaker: bet365
