Bournemouth vs Manchester United Prediction: Team News and Lineups Preview
Scott Thornton brings you his Bournemouth vs Manchester United prediction, team news, lineups and fixtures preview as the teams go head-to-head in the Premier League.
Prediction: Bournemouth 3-2 Manchester United
Erik Ten Hag’s side have failed to win any of their three matches since the international break which had put them on the back foot in the race for a Champions League place. Bournemouth we’re beaten by Luton in their last game so they are looking to bounce back here.
- Bournemouth vs Manchester United Tip 1: Bournemouth To Win
- Bournemouth vs Manchester United Tip 2: Both Teams To Score & Over 2.5 Goals
- Bournemouth vs Manchester United Tip 3: Dominic Solanke To Score
Bournemouth vs Manchester United Prediction 1: Home Side to Claim All Three Points
England, Premier League, Saturday, April 13th, 17:30 (UK)
Manchester United were fortunate to get a point from their clash with Liverpool last weekend. Erik Ten Hag’s side had to weather the storm. It took a mistake from Klopp’s defence and a wonder goal from Kobbie Mainoo to grab their two goals. Andre Onana was busy at the other end.
Bournemouth are unbeaten in their last five home matches across all competitions. They managed a 3-0 win over United at Old Trafford earlier in the season so I’m happy to back them to win here. Iraola’s men had to absorb pressure in that game, but the result was no fluke. They finished the game with 0.32 more xG than the home side. Bournemouth have managed to win six of their last 11 home matches, and their only defeats during that run came against Manchester City and Liverpool.
The Red Devils have lost five of their last ten away matches in the Premier League. Over that period, they are conceding an average of 1.80 goals per game and have managed just three wins. Manchester United place 15th in the table according to Understats’ expected points metric won’t a total of 36.72. Their opponents’ xPTS is 43.24, so the price on offer for a home win appears generous.
- Bournemouth vs Manchester United Prediction 1: Bournemouth To Win
- Best Odds: 2.45

Bournemouth vs Manchester United Prediction 2: Goal Trend Set to Continue
Our second bet for this match is Both Teams To Score and Over 2.5 Goals in the match. Manchester United have conceded an exorbitant amount of shots this season. Ten Hag’s side have conceded an average of 17.87 per game, a number only beaten by Sheffield United. The manager is seemingly happy to leave his midfield isolated with the forwards asked to press and the defence instructed to sit deep. Bournemouth have the quality to exploit that deficiency.
The Cherries’ matches this season have seen an average of 3.20 goals per game. Andoni Iraola’s men are scoring 1.8 and conceding 1.4 on average. They have failed to score in just two of their last 10 Premier League matches, they were facing title contenders on both occasions.
United have played seven Premier League away matches in 2024. Both teams have scored in all of those and this bet has won in six. Those games have seen an average of 4.33 goals, so expect a glut of goals once again.
- Bournemouth vs Manchester United Prediction 2: Both Teams To Score & Over 2.5 Goals (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 1.61
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 9/10
Bournemouth vs Manchester United Prediction 3: Solanke to Leave His Mark
Dominic Solanke’s scoring form has grabbed headlines this season. It has been his most prolific camping in the top flight by some distance. The former Liverpool striker bagged a goal against Manchester United earlier in the season and would love to get his name on the scoresheet once again.
Solanke has netted 16 league goals in 31 Premier League appearances this season. He has a non-penalty xG of 0.44 per 90 minutes played. The striker is likely to have success against a depleted Manchester United defence. Ten Hag’s approach without the ball has been brought into question. No team in Europe’s top five leagues has allowed their opponents more attempts in 2024, so Solanke stands to benefit here.
Bournemouth’s top scorer this season has found the net in two of their last three home matches. Nine of his 16 league goals have come at the Vitality Stadium.
- Bournemouth vs Manchester United Prediction 3: Dominic Solanke To Score
- Best Odds: 2.25
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 7/10
