Bayern Munich’s season has unravelled in recent weeks. Three consecutive defeats have seen them fall eight points behind Leverkusen and left them with a first-leg deficit to overcome in the Champions League. The decision to replace Julian Nagelsmann with Thomas Tuchel deep into last season was a controversial one. It certainly hasn’t paid dividends, but the Bavarians appear to be standing by Tuchel for now.
Unfortunately for Bayern, they take on RB Leipzig this weekend. They have been poor in their recent matches against this opponent. Bayern have failed to win any of the last four meetings with Marco Rose’s side. They lost the Super Cup 3-0 against the Red Bull-backed outfit at the start of this campaign. Munich also conceded three in the last meeting between the sides at the Allianz Arena.
RB Leipzig isn’t enjoying their best period of form, but there was plenty to like about their 2-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach last weekend. They took an early lead and seldom looked troubled. Rose’s men take on a side that could crumble under pressure once again, so the first bet is for the visitors to extend their unbeaten run against Bayern.

Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig Tip 2: Must Win Clash Will Provide Entertainment
Bayern bolstered their attack in the summer with Harry Kane coming in as the marquee signing. Kane has held up his end of the bargain, top-scoring the Bundesliga with 25 goals. Goals haven’t been an issue for Tuchel’s side, but the defensive lapses in recent matches cannot be ignored. They have conceded in their last five across all competitions, and those matches are averaging 3.6 goals.
Tuchel’s side’s home matches in the Bundesliga this season have seen an average of four goals, with Bayern contributing 3.36 of those. Due to their excellent attack and wilting defence, over 3.5 goals in the match is the next tip for this clash.
RB Leipzig’s away matches in the league have seen an average of 3.6 goals, with them split evenly between the home and away sides. Rose’s team were in Bavaria taking on Bayern’s neighbours just a couple of weeks ago. That game finished 2-2. This bet has won in the last three head-to-heads between these sides at this ground with an average of exactly five goals.

With goals very much in the offing, the last pick is Lois Openda to score any time in the match. The Belgian striker has found the net 16 times in 22 Bundesliga matches this season. His underlying data also makes for excellent reading, and he is best priced at 2.88 to find the net here.

Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig Team News and Possible Lineups: Bayern’s Barebones Defence
Dayot Upamecano was sent off for the second game running in the loss to Bochum. The likes of Sacha Boey and Bouna Sarr are also missing in defence. Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry have also been out for a lengthy period. Joshua Kimmich’s return to the team hasn’t had the desired impact. Mazraoui also picked up an injury in their last match, so Tuchel could be without a recognised right-back.
Marco Rose’s list of absentees is much less substantial. Yussuf Poulsen will be unable to play due to suspension. Amadou Haidara returned to the team last weekend after the African Cup of Nations.
