MEMPHIS TIGERS VS CHARLOTTE 49ERS PREDICTION
Well, my total fell short in Utah last night, so I need to make up for it with a play full of extreme value tonight. I do believe I have found it with the 49ers taking on the Tigers in Memphis as +5.5 underdogs but we don’t have time for that action!
That’s right, we’re going big dog tonight, and when the 49ers march into Memphis as dogs and leave the FedEx Forum as winners, we’re cashing a nice ticket at 2.90.
If you aren’t privy to getting to see the 49ers play hoops on a nightly basis, I’ll bet you can’t even name their Head Coach. Aaron Fearne was in no way, shape, or form a name that anyone expected to be running a program in Division 1 hoops, much less running a ship cruising right along to a 17 – 8 record overall with an 11 – 2 record in conference play. South Florida is leading the way at 12 – 1, and then the surprising 49ers are just a game behind chasing the top spot for the American Athletic Conference Tournament.
Fearne has an extensive history with Australian hoops, as both a player and a coach before coming to the States in 2018 to assist at Charlotte. This is his first campaign in the NCAA, and he has control of the situation at the moment.
It will be interesting to see if the 49ers reach 20 wins and what the voting committee will do with them when the big post-season tourneys get started.
The 49ers have won their last 3 games coming into this contest, and they have taken wins from 11 of their last 12 games as well. Their one loss was by 3 points to South Florida but make no mistake that the 48ers have March 2nd circled for that rematch with the Bulls in Charlotte.
Memphis just got whacked by SMU this past weekend, 106 – 79, and that makes it two straight games with a loss for the Tigers after losing to North Texas by double-digits, 76 – 66. It is hard for me to justify seeing Memphis favoured at all, much less by a handful of points, even if they are at home tonight.
I have Charlotte pulling the outright upset win on the road, and yes, I usually pocket the points if you know me by now. You also know I am the Mayor of Value City around here, and that title came from making big plays like 2.90 on dogs to win!

Memphis ranks LAST in ALL of NCAA basketball guarding the 3-point shot, and they also allow the most attempts so maybe the 49ers will be testing their limitations tonight knowing the chances will likely be there.
