The Big 12 Conference schedule will continually be providing big games for the next few months, and the clash between Texas Tech and Kansas on Tuesday night certainly fits the bill. The Jayhawks have only tasted defeat once thus far, while the Red Raiders are already 0 – 1 in Big 12 play after losing to TCU on the final day of 2022.

That’s right, now that the college football campaign is down to one game for all of the marbles, I will be providing college hoop plays throughout the weeks to come, so buckle up for the madness!

The new year starts in the Big 12 Conference, and what a game we have for Tuesday between two solid programs that both have plans to land in the big tournament in March.

Kansas has only lost a single game to this point, and it came against Tennessee back on November 25. The Jayhawks went 6 – 0 in December and you all know how I feel about Bill Self. I have included Kansas in my previews twice now, and they have done exactly what I expected them to do each time. Bill Self is a master motivator and easily the most intense coach in college basketball.

When Coach Self wants his team to act a certain way, they all take it to heart and do all they can do to get the job done. Being on the road only fires him up more, and you remember what happened when they went to Missouri when they were still undefeated, right? I covered that game as we smashed Kansas, and they smashed the Tigers in style, 95 – 67.

I am suggesting this Over in this game for tonight, and it’s because of how Self motivates his kids to stay together when they hit the road. Kansas only has that loss to Tennessee at a neutral site, but Kansas is 1 – 0 in true road games and 3 – 1 at neutral sites this year.

Texas Tech put up over 100 points in their last 3 games before conference play got underway, but none of that helped them against TCU on December 31. Kansas arrives at Lubbock as slight favourites, but that won’t stop me from liking their chances to win this game. Yes, I said it won’t stop me because I can’t stand playing favourites if I can help it. TCU is about as solid a team as the Big 12 has this year, and I think Texas Tech is about to get chopped down again by another solid team.

In this case, I will take Bill Self and Kansas on the road to get this win, and I think they will score 78 points getting there. You can play the Kansas Team Total Over, the Over, or Kansas -2 and cash 3 damn tickets from this game if you are greedy! And if you are, I like your style, baby!

I love the fact that Kansas snuck out a win against Oklahoma State the way they did to end the 2022 portion of the schedule. Despite being favoured by 10 points, the Cowboys gave Kansas quite a scare, and that only makes me love Kansas even more now.
