South Sudan vs Phillippines Bet Builder Tips: Clarkson to Shine
South Sudan Phillippines Bet Builder Tips, OPTA Stats, Player Props: Thursday, August 31st
Both Asia and Africa are without a team in the second phase, so classification games will be a battle for an Olympic spot. South Sudan is coming to this phase after a solid showcase in Group B, but just one win against China. On the other hand, the Phillippines went 0-3, and this is a must-win for them if they want to be close to Japan as the best Asian team.
South Sudan take on the Philippines today at 14:00 in the 2nd round of the FIBA World Cup. Our basketball expert Elek Lenard has been covering the tournament closely and he’s got another bet builder at 2.20 odds.

South Sudan Phillippines Bet Builder Tips: Expect a High-Scoring Affair
Carlik Jones 15+ points
He started the tournament hot, dropping 38 points in a losing effort against Puerto Rico, and then he scored 21 against China. He is South Sudan’s best player and everything goes through him. Against Serbia, he got focused by team defence. The Phillippines can’t play even close to the defence Serbia plays. They allowed 6 Italian players to be in double digits, while Fontecchio, the first option, had 18 points while shooting badly.
Victor Liz had 18, and Gerson Conclaves and Gerson Domingos had 17 and 15. Carlik plays heavy iso ball, and in the fast pace South Sudan is forcing, he should have no problem against weaker Phillippine’s defence.
Jordan Clarkson 25+
South Sudan struggles with guarding first options. Carlik Jones is bad at defence, they play fast pace and don’t do double teams. Kyle Anderson had 22, Bogdan Bogdanovic 23, and Tremont Waters 19 while shooting 1/7 for two.
Clarkson went 25+ in just one game, but he struggled badly with three three-point shots. Against South Sudan it should be different, as both Tremont and Bogdan scored most of their points from the perimeter: Tremont shot 4/9 for three, while Bogdan was 6/9. Clarkson is shooting 3/21 for three and we should see an improvement today.
Total 162.5 points
South Sudan and the Phillippines both prefer a faster pace, and both teams have some defensive issues. The Philippines didn’t go over this line only against Angola when Clarkson got doubled hard, while South Sudan failed to go over against China – a very poor side on both sides of the floor.
The pace factor from South Sudan is 77, while from the Phillippines it is the same. On that kind of pace, both of the teams’ bad defences should be exposed.
