CHARLOTTE HORNETS VS BROOKLYN NETS
Mon, Oct 30. 23:10 (UK time)
LaMelo Ball has 19 assists to his name through two games, passing this line on both occasions. Ball averaged 8.4 dimes per game last season, and looks well-set to exceed that number throughout this campaign with superior talent around him.
On paper, Brooklyn has a lot of good defensive options to throw at the Hornets point guard. The Nets’ defence has not lived up to those high standards through the first two games, however, and was torched by Luka Doncic. LaMelo is not on Doncic’s level just yet, but they both big playmakers with an impressive passing arsenal.
Having hit this over in seven of his last nine regular season games, we think there’s great value here.
NEW ORLEANS PELICANS VS GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS
Tue, Oct 31. 00:10 (UK time)
Draymond Green returned to the Warriors’ starting line up on Sunday, sending Chris Paul to the bench. Steve Kerr claimed after the win in Houston that his stars will all start in New Orleans on Monday, but the Dubs are surely going to be cautious with their veterans in a road back-to-back.
New Orleans’ starters could have opportunities against the Warriors bench, which often features undersized line ups. Pels centre Jonas Valanciunas is a force to be reckoned with on the boards, and could rack up some big numbers if he gets minutes when Kevon Looney is resting.
Only Moses Brown and Andre Drummond had a better rebounding rate than the big Lithuanian last season. Foul trouble kept him to four rebounds last time out, but he grabbed 12 in the opener. This is a superb matchup for take the over.
DENVER NUGGETS VS UTAH JAZZ
Tue, Oct 31. 01:10 (UK time)
Jamal Murray has scored between 19 and 22 points in all three games this season. Perhaps a line of 21.5 seems on the high side as a result. Murray, though, played under 30 minutes on Sunday, and faces a Jazz team with the worst defensive rating in the league so far.
Utah also possesses a real weakness in its perimeter defence. Jordan Clarkson, Talen Horton-Tucker, and Collin Sexton are all vulnerable on that end of the floor. If Murray gets Kelly Olynyk, Lauri Markkanen or Walker Kessler in a switch, he’s going to be able to cook just as we saw throughout the postseason.
Look for a big night from Murray – he had a 30-piece against the Jazz last season, and could well repeat that on Monday.
