NEVADA WOLF PACK VS SAN DIEGO STATE AZTECS PREDICTION
For the second time this one my bets fell a measly half-point short of cashing in, so with a 2 – 2 record for the week, I certainly want to close out at 3 – 2 with a winner tonight.
Niagara almost completed another epic comeback last night, only to lose by 3 when we had +2.5 on the board with the Purple Eagles, So, it’s time to just get over it and look at tonight’s game out West because I smell twine in Reno tonight!
The leather should rip through the nets for both teams tonight, as I see 140 and change as an easy proposition to close out the week with the dub.
First of all, have you noticed that when Nevada plays good offensive programs, they tend to get lit up a bit? New Mexico dropped 93 against the Wolf Pack, and Wyoming torched the Nevada defense for 98 points recently too. It was a 71 – 59 contest between these two teams back on January 17 in San Diego, and I just don’t think this game is going to be anything similar to that contest.
Secondly, both of these teams have averaged over 76 PPG for the entirety of the campaign, and you know that those stats include all of those non-conference games that don’t bring close to the intensity that these conference games bring, especially in February!
Another factor to notice is the Mountain West Conference table entering this weekend. Utah State, New Mexico, Boise State, and the Aztecs are all 7 – 3 tied for the lead on top of the standings.
San Diego State still has games left with New Mexico and Utah State, and in the final game of the regular season, they will host Boise State. That game might be massive for both programs on March 8, and then it is on to the Mountain West Conference Tournament.
Nevada is 5 – 4 in conference play and 18 – 5 overall, and they have won 11 of their 12 home games this season. Why do you think the handicap is just about a point or so? This will be a fantastic game to watch, and it will feel even better to bet on when you see the final score in the morning.
This is a race to 80 in my mind, so I see an 81 – 77 type of game coming our way in Reno tonight. After we splash this pot, we can sneak over to Las Vegas and catch the Super Bowl this Sunday! Oh, I will have my predictions for that big game, make no mistake about it!

NEVADA WOLF PACK VS SAN DIEGO STATE AZTECS TRENDS
- The Aztecs are 0 – 3 -1 ATS in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600.
- The Aztecs’ total is a perfect 4 – 0 to the Over in their last 4 games.
- Nevada has hit the Game Total Under in 18 of their last 30 games.
NEVADA WOLF PACK VS SAN DIEGO STATE AZTECS STATS AND FORM
Outside of that 4 – 0 you see regarding the recent San Diego State totals, I am well aware that the trends and stats feature many targets to the Under. The Under is 10 – 1 in the Wolf Packs’ last 11 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600, but that bothers me none.
The Aztecs have defeated the Wolf Pack in 10 of the last 11 meetings between the two programs, including a 71 – 59 win in the first meeting of the year.
The Aztecs are reporting no injuries entering this game, although the same cannot be said for Nevada.
The Wolfpack lists Tylon Pope on the IR, as he missed the last game with a quad strain, so he might not be back in time for this game. Pope averages Pope has only played in a total of 12 games this campaign, so the Wolf Pack shouldn’t miss his 4 points a night he is scoring this year.
