Later that evening, the Iowa State Cyclones and VCU Rams will take the same State Farm Field House court for one of the other quarterfinal matchups, so get this event covered and expect a good bit of scoring to take place on Thanksgiving.

NCAA BASKETBALL Picks: A PAIR OF TOTALS FOR THANKSGIVING
TEXAS A&M AGGIES VS PENN STATE NITTANY LIONS: THE FIRST OF FOUR GAMES IN KISSIMMEE
KISS ME YOU FOOL!! Ahh, I apologize, I had to do it with all of this Kissimmee talk on Thanksgiving. Eight programs will be celebrating the Holiday in Kissimmee Florida to compete in the ESPN Events Invitational, and all four quarterfinal games will be played on this court today.
Starting at high noon EDT time, the first game of this tournament features a pair of 4 – 0 squads as Penn State and Texas A&M open the festivities. The Aggies are favoured at -6.5, but my eyes are on this total that I think is set entirely too low for this opening game of the event.
Bet365 is showing a straight 136 on this total, and if you twist my arm and ask me for a final score prediction, it will be somewhere in the 70s and way into the 140s.
The Nittany Lions offense may not be ranked very high at 150th in the Nation in scoring, but that ranking still has them averaging 77.5 PPG. I think anyone who is looking at rankings through these non-conference opening games of the campaign needs to start knitting and making sweaters for a living, HA! There are so many games being played with lesser-talent opponents through 3-4 games of the campaign, that it is just a matter of how teams will match up when they meet.
Penn State is a Big Ten team, and they have played Delaware State, Lehigh, Saint Francis, and Morehead through four games. Of course, they are 4 – 0! Any Power-5 program is going to beat those teams on just about any night on any court, so there is no surprise by any of these results.
This game is worth the price of admission, and let’s not lose track of the fact that the Aggies are putting up 76 PPG through their first four games, and they have wins over Ohio State and SMU on the board. I think the Aggies are going to have plenty of success scoring on Penn State, and I don’t see why the Lions won’t be able to manage the same.
This is a 76 – 75 game waiting to happen, so play the team totals and the main total accordingly.
VCU RAMS VS IOWA STATE CYCLONES: THE THIRD OF FOUR GAMES IN KISSIMMEE
After the Penn State game with Texas A&M, FAU and Butler will square off, and let me tell you right now that Butler is getting +7 and I am on that like white on rice!
You can add that to this combo if you like because that will be a tight game and the Bulldogs will keep it close all night.
After that game concluded, the VCU Rams and Iowa State Cyclone hit the State Farm Field House court, and oh boy, talk about a gift of a line. HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM THE LINE SETTERS!!

That 91.2 number is way too much for me to overlook, as the Cyclones’ offence has been ridiculously good out of the gate, I don’t see how VCU, who may have some decent defensive numbers in the rankings, but none of that came against this Cyclone madness!
This Cyclones squad has five players averaging double-digits through the first four games of the campaign. Let’s make zero mistakes in recognizing one of the weakest schedules I have ever seen in my life! Wins over Wisconsin-GB, Lindwood, Idaho State, and Grambling pretty much have no significance in the least, and Iowa State was no less than a 27-point favourite in all of those affairs!
Here you go… 81 – 74! I do think VCU will manage to keep this game closer than the double-digit spread I see at -11.5 for the Cyclones. It could also get ugly and I hope it does, so play this total and I have a bonus bet.
When the Creighton vs Colorado State total comes out (it is 1 AM EDT as I hand this in and there are no lines up yet for that game), jump on that over like you would jump on a chance to go to Belize on the house! FOR 3 WEEKS!! HA!
