There is one shining moment left when either the Aztecs or Huskies lift the National Championship trophy on Monday night, and our resident college hoops expert Ej Garr has one last bet to offer for the end of the campaign.
After a pair of exciting semifinal games on the NRG Stadium court in Houston Texas, the Final Four is down to one game for all of the marbles, and Ej is eyeing the total as his best bet for the title game. Let’s take the court one last time and go out with a winner!

It is hard to get more exciting than the first semifinal game of the Final Four, as the Aztecs pulled off a 14-point comeback late in the second half that finished with the last shot of the basketball game.
Just when it looked like the FAU Owls were going to land in the final game, the Aztecs mounted an incredible comeback that ended with the last shot from Lamont Butler. Butler calmly knocked down about a 12-foot jumper on the right key hitting nothing but net as the time expired on the clock to give the Aztecs their first lead since the 7:51 mark of the first half.
Luckily for the Aztec faithful, the best time to have the lead is when the clock runs out, so it worked out quite well for the first Mountain West Conference to play in the NCAA Men’s title game. They were already the first MWC team to even reach the final four much less be in this position to put a ring on their finger.
I didn’t miss a second of either semifinal affairs, and I know I offered the Under 132.5 for that match and it went into the 140s, 72 – 71. I was amazed that the Aztecs looked more interested in scoring than playing their normal relentless defense.
If they want to run up and down with UConn, the Huskies will gladly take part in such a game. Suffice it to say that UConn hasn’t been afraid to shoot the ball having no outing with less than 70 points through 5 Tourney games. Oh, the fact that the Huskies have won all 5 of their games by double-digits is also quite impressive.
I am trying not to be a homer because I went to college at UConn, but luckily the line is up to -7.5 and I don’t want to try to see who covers the handicap. I see our best opportunity to cash a ticket coming from the total, so that’s where I am going with our last bet of the campaign.

I see Pinnacle offering 1.89 on the Over 132, but most major bookmakers are starting with 132.5 as their base total. Depending on your book and when you get the tip in, it could move a point in either direction, so try to get the best line that you can find for the finals.
