PHILADELPHIA 76ERS VS BOSTON CELTICS: Blazing Guns at Wells Fargo
Thu, Nov 09. 00:10 (UK time)
Four of Boston’s first six games have gone over this line. Philadelphia’s games are averaging almost 230 total points. With the offence led by the jet-heeled Tyrese Maxey, Philly are up in 12th in pace, and they will look to run when the opportunity arises against a steely Celtics defence.
Boston have been elite at both ends of the court, placing in the top four in defensive and offensive rating. Only the Nuggets can better their adjusted shot quality. These Celtics have also cashed the over in five of their opening six games.
We’re expecting a high-scoring game between the East’s best two teams (after two weeks, at least).
MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES VS MIAMI HEAT: Heat Catch Fire
Thu, Nov 09. 01:10 (UK time)
Both of these teams have started slowly. Miami have back-to-back wins to their name, though, and the Grizzlies finally got their first win of the season last time out. Injuries are a factor for both, with Caleb Martin still sidelined for the Heat, and Memphis forced to run out a makeshift rotation.
The Grizzlies are treading water on the defensive end despite a depleted frontcourt. Their offence has been woeful, however, and shot creation is not going to get any easier against this Miami team.
While Miami has the worst against-the-spread record in the Association, we still think there’s good value backing them to cover this small spread in Memphis on Wednesday night.
DALLAS MAVERICKS VS TORONTO RAPTORS: Mavs Keep Rolling
Thu, Nov 09. 01:40 (UK time)
Just three teams have a better-adjusted shot quality than the Mavericks so far this season. Their defence has been better than their middle-of-the-pack rating suggests, and the offence has been humming even with Kyrie Irving’s limited production.
Toronto has been competitive on the back of a strong start from Scottie Barnes, but their offence overall has again been a concern (27th in rating, 29th in shot quality). On defence, they have decent options to throw at Luka Doncic, but it’s still hard to see them keeping pace here.
The Mavs have covered this number in five of their six wins. We like their chances of improving to 7-1 straight-up on Wednesday.
