WASHINGTON WIZARDS VS CHARLOTTE HORNETS

Sat, Nov 11. 00:10 (UK time)

This might seem like a standard matchup of bad teams. Yes, both are heading for the lottery, but the Hornets have aspirations of something more, and there is at least some significant upside with this roster around LaMelo Ball.

Washington won emphatically when these teams met a couple of days ago, but it’s very unlikely they shoot 42% from three again, even against a porous Hornets defence. Charlotte’s offence, powered by Ball’s playmaking and scoring, is around league average in shot quality generated.

Despite Wednesday’s result, we think it’s a mistake from the books to post the Hornets as underdogs for this one. We are still dealing with small samples at this stage of the season, and Charlotte is clearly a more talented team than Washington.

  • Selection: Charlotte Hornets +2
  • Best Odds: 1.91
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stakes: 5/10

DETROIT PISTONS VS PHILADELPHIA 76ERS

Sat, Nov 11. 00:10 (UK time)

Philadelphia is a league-best 7-0 against the spread to start the season. The James Harden saga has been put behind them — Nick Nurse has Philly humming on offence and effective on defence. Tyrese Maxey looks like a true star.

Detroit has lost six in a row. While Cade Cunningham is playing at a high level, this is a grossly unbalanced roster, which is exaggerated further with Joe Harris, Bojan Bogdanovic, Alec Burks and Jaden Ivey sidelined.

We can’t see the Pistons keeping pace with Philly here, who are second in shot quality generated on offence. The Sixers should win this in a blowout.

  • Selection: Philadelphia 76ers -8
  • Best Odds: 1.91
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stakes: 10/10

HOUSTON ROCKETS VS NEW ORLEANS PELICANS

Sat, Nov 11. 01:10 (UK time)

Houston has won four in a row. They are fifth in net rating. New Orleans is without CJ McCollum, Trey Murphy, Jose Alvarado and Naji Marshall, with Zion Williamson and Herb Jones both listed as questionable.

As a result, it’s peculiar the Rockets are such a good price to win this game straight-up. New Orleans is only 4-4 on the season, and has lost its last three in emphatic fashion. They are in the bottom 10 in adjusted shot quality differential, and in the bottom seven in both offensive and defensive ratings.

Even with doubts about Alperen Sengun’s health, it’s a no-brainer taking the Rockets at this price to wrap up our parlay.

  • Selection: Houston Rockets moneyline
  • Best Odds: 1.71
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stakes: 8/10
