MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES VS DENVER NUGGETS: Champs Hold on the Road
Sat, Oct 28. 00:10 (UK time)
The Grizzlies lost to the Pelicans on opening night, and it doesn’t get any easier this Friday with the visit of the Denver Nuggets. Denver has had an extra day to prepare for this game, and is coming off an impressive win over the Lakers.
Memphis is without Ja Morant, Luke Kennard, Steven Adams, Brandon Clarke and Santi Aldama. They lost two of three to the Nuggets in the 2022-23 regular season. There might be questions about the Nuggets’ bench, but their starting five will be able to dominate in this matchup.
We can’t see the Grizzlies keeping pace with this Denver offence. Foul trouble for Jaren Jackson Jr seems inevitable, too.
CHICAGO BULLS VS TORONTO RAPTORS: Raptors Defend Home Court
Sat, Oct 28. 01:10 (UK time)
How many teams have had a players-only meeting after the first game of the season? The Chicago Bulls might have made unwanted NBA history on Wednesday night. A heavy loss to the Thunder led to a tense locker room, and it’s hard to see things getting much better for the Bulls on Friday night.
Both teams entered this season in NBA purgatory. They are in the middle, not quite good enough for the top six, and not bad enough for a good lottery position. The contrast after just one game is stark, though, with the Raptors impressing to beat the Timberwolves and the Bulls being outplayed by an ascendant Oklahoma City Thunder squad.
The length of the Raptors should be able to trouble the Bulls. On the other end, Toronto should have enough on offence to get the win here, particularly if Dennis Schroeder can replicate his opening-night efforts.
DALLAS MAVERICKS VS BROOKLYN NETS: Nets Bounce Back
Sat, Oct 28. 01:40 (UK time)
On the back of another big-time triple-double from Luka Doncic, the Dallas Mavericks eventually saw off the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday. It was hardly an emphatic performance from the Mavs, however. The Spurs were in it for much of the game despite Victor Wembanyama’s foul trouble.
On the other side of this matchup, bettors can take confidence from how the Nets performed against the Cavaliers. Brooklyn lost by just one point, with Cam Thomas again delivering an exceptional offensive showing.
These Nets are packed with defensive options to throw at Doncic and Kyrie Irving. They might be on the road, but Brooklyn is still worth backing to cover this spread.
