Minnesota Timberwolves vs Indiana Pacers Best Bet: Wednesday, December 7th

When you face such a tough loss as we did last night, all the games seem dull and all the lines look dull the day after. It’s like a hangover but much worse. Anthony Davis only played 8 minutes and the Lakers shot 16.7% from deep. Well, that’s basketball, and we have no choice but to bounce right back with a high-value bet in the Over/Under market.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are taking on the Indiana Pacers at Target Center tonight and you better look out if you’re in the building or you might just end up on the scoreboard. Seriously, neither of these teams has played any defence whatsoever this season, and we’re expecting a proper shootout tonight.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Indiana Pacers Preview

Thu, Dec 8th 00:00 (UK time)

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been one of the biggest underachievers this season, winning just 11 of their 23 games this season and are sitting in 11th place in the Western Conference. They have been able to pick it up recently, winning 6 of their last 10, but are now coming off a 128-135 loss against the OKC Thunder. With KAT out until January, it’s going to be a tough month for the Wolves, and their (lack of) defence certainly isn’t going to help. After this one, the Wolves are going on a 5-game road trip, so don’t be surprised if you see a lot of fading from us.

The Timberwolves have actually been decent on offence, averaging 115 points and shooting very well from inside the 3-point line. However. They haven’t been making a lot of threes with 32.6% from beyond the arc, but their fast pace gives them a lot of opportunities for easy baskets at the rim. Their defence… has allowed an average of 116.1 points per game with an opponent 3-point percentage of 37.5%. Remember this bit of information.

Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers haven’t been that much better in terms of their style of play, but their record of 13 wins and 11 losses has placed them 5th in the east. They have won 5 of their last 10 and are coming off a 112-104 road win against the Warriors. They are having some injury issues at the moment, with Haliburton, McConnell, and Turner listed as ‘questionable’ for tonight whilst Duarte and Theis will be sitting out.
The Pacers also like to play a fast-paced style of basketball with a lot of scoring and not much defence. Inf act, they are 8th in the NBA in points per game with 115.0 and one of their top weapons this year has been the 3-pointer. The Pacers are 4th in the league in attempts from beyond the arc with 40.1 and 5th in threes made with 14.3. They don’t score from inside much, which s great considering Rudy Gobert will be manning the center spot for the Wolves tonight. Instead, they’re far better off forcing him outside and taking advantage of their poor perimeter defence.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Indiana Pacers Best Bet

This brings us to our best bet of the night. Nothing like a nice old-fashion shootout to get the bitter taste of a bad loss out of our mouths. Let’s face it, none of these two teams have played any defence whatsoever this year, and considering their recent performances, I expect more of the same tonight. The line is very high at 235.5, but it should be even higher.

  • Selection: Over 235.5
  • Best odds: 1.97 (1xBet)
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds as at 2:30 pm on December 7th, 2022. Odds may now differ.
