Memphis Grizzlies vs Detroit Pistons Bet Builder: Sunday, December 4th
We are seven weeks into the NBA season and down to have an interesting NBA Sunday, with 8 games on the slate. So we decided to dive deep into a game between two young teams, Memphis Grizzlies take and Detroit Pistons.
In this article:
Memphis Grizzlies vs Detroit Pistons Preview
Sun, Dec 4th. 23:10 (UK time)
Both teams are playing as expected. The Grizzlies are currently in the 4th place in the Western Conference, while Detroit Pistons are 14th out of the 15 teams in the Eastern Conference. Memphis is an average team on both ends, as they have the 12th-best offensive rating and 18th-best defensive rating.
On the other side, the Pistons have the worst defense, while the offense is not much better(ranked 25th). The Grizzlies defense improved with the return of Jaren Jackson Jr., one of the best young defensive players in the league, while the Pistons are without Cade Cunnigham, who could be out for the rest of the season with an injury.
Memphis Grizzlies vs Detroit Pistons Bet Builder
The Pistons are starting Marvin Bagley at the 5, so their rim protection is poor. Also, their overall defense is the worst in the league, so betting overs against them is always a good spot.
They lost 10 out of the last 13 games, and the Grizzlies are a terrible matchup for them, as they don’t have anyone to stop Ja Morant. On the other side, with great defensive players like Dillon Brooks, Jaren Jackson Jr, and the size of Steven Adams, the Grizzlies are in an excellent spot to dominate this game.
Ja Morant has scored 25+ points in 7 out of the last 10 games, even though he had some tough matchups against the teams with excellent rim protection like the 76ers(Embiid), Knicks(Robinson), and Wolves(Gobert), and this game is a great bounce-back spot for him.
Jaren Jackson Jr. had a poor game in his return from the injury(7 points) but scored 16+ points in every game since, and the Pistons allow the 2nd most points to opposing Power Forwards.
With Cunningham being out, Ivey took more of a playmaking role and cleared this assist line in all 10 games without Cade.
- Ja Morant Over 24.5 Points
- Jaren Jackson Jr. Over 13.5 Points
- Jaden Ivey Over 2.5 Assist
