Denver Nuggets vs Houston Rockets Best Bet: Monday, November 28th

Good morning basketball fans! Our winning streak was snapped on Friday night by the Grizzlies with a 132-point stunner over the Pelicans. But what better way to bounce back than with a nice underdog win on Monday night?

The Denver Nuggets are taking on the Houston Rockets tonight at Ball Arena and I see some solid value in backing the young tanks, I mean the Rockets. This will be their first encounter of the season, so you know anything can happen.

Denver Nuggets vs Houston Rockets Preview

Tue, Nov 29th. 02:00 (UK time)

The Denver Nuggets are finally healthy and ready to contend for the title! Maybe! We’ll see, but for now, they are 2nd in the Western Conference standings with a 12-7 record. They’ve won 6 of their last 10 and are on a 2-game winning streak. Their most recent game was a 104-114 win over the LA Clippers at… let me try and say this with a straight face, Crypto.com Arena. But for tonight’s game, Bones Hyland and MPJ are questionable, whilst Jeff Green and Collin Gillespie are out.

Despite sitting near the top of the standings, the Denver Nuggets haven’t really been one of the best teams in the league. They have a solid offence, ranking 7th in offensive rating, but their slower pace means they only attempt 86.8 field goals per game, resulting in 114.5 points per game (12th in NBA). The Nuggets’ defence has been one of the worst in the league so far, ranking 28th in defensive rating and allowing 113.8 points per game. The Nuggets also allow 52.3 points in the paint per game, ranking them 23rd in that regard, and their perimeter defence has also been average. This isn’t the type of defence that will take them to the finals, but in the regular season, it should be enough to get them over 50 wins.

I’m sorry Houston fans, but something terrible has been happening with your team these past few days, and there’s no way to stop it – the Rockets are winning. Everything was going according to plan, the tank was running at full speed and the Rockets were dead-last in the west with a 3-14 record. But everything changed on Friday night when they, unfortunately, beat the Atlanta Hawks by 128-122, and things got worse on Saturday with a 118-105 win over the OKC Thunder. Ok enough. The Rockets are being underestimated and they’re taking advantage of it. They covered the spread in 4 of their last 5 games and I see an +11.5 spread for tonight. They have shown multiple times this season that they can compete when they want to, and I think backing them is not a bad idea tonight.

Denver Nuggets vs Houston Rockets Best Bet

Let me tell you something you might not know, the Denver Nuggets are probably going to win tonight. The bookies have them at 1.14 odds whilst the Rockets are at 6.33. You already know the spread is big, but according to Unibet, 95% of bettors are jumping to back the Nuggets tonight. Sharp money, no doubt.

The Nuggets are allergic to playing defence, and there’s a reason they only covered the spread in 9 games this season so far. They’re being overvalued because of their star power and it’s exactly in these kinds of situations where I want to fade them. The Rockets are a young team that makes a lot of mistakes on offence, it’s true, but against a mediocre defence like the Nuggets have, they will have enough time and space to get going. I’m giving myself an extra point with the alternative line and going with +12.5 points on the Rockets.

  • Selection: Rockets +12.5
  • Best Odds: 1.89 (Unibet)
  • Stakes: 4/10

Odds as at 11:00 am on November 28th, 2022. Odds may now differ.
