In a way, it would be fitting for both teams if this series ended with a Butler masterpiece, with the Celtics getting to within touching distance of completing the comeback only to falter in the clutch. Boston blew a lead late in Game Six again – the offence stagnated, and their defence had no answer for Butler.
Miami’s chances of a win here depend heavily on Butler. Even if they shoot 50% from three, they still need Butler to be better than he has been for most of the last three games. We’re expecting the All-NBA forward to play 45+ minutes. He might have only gone over these points, rebounds and assists line in three of six games this series, but we’re backing him for another big-time performance.
For the second leg of this wager, Caleb Martin is our focus. Martin has arguably been Miami’s most consistent performer in these Conference Finals. Inserted into the starting five on Saturday, he had a massive game on both ends, and continued his streak of making two or more threes, which now stands at six games. Martin got up eight perimeter efforts in Game Six, and has made two or more in 12 of 17 Playoff games this term.

The Celtics built their Game Six lead by protecting the paint. Al Horford and Rob Williams were excellent, with Horford continuing to perform at a high level on the defensive end even when his shot isn’t falling. The veteran big man is second in total blocks and fifth in total steals this postseason. Averaging 2.9 stocks per game, this over is great value.
Our attention turns to Tatum for the final leg. Game Sevens are a time for stars to shine, and Tatum has already set the NBA record for the most points in a Game Seven. He’s been up-and-down at times this postseason, but he’s passed this alternate line in five of the previous seven games. Like Butler, he could get close to playing all 48 minutes here, and scored 31 last time out despite going zero-for-eight from downtown.
