After completing their first 21 games of the 2022 NBA campaign, the Nuggets are sitting comfortably in the 2nd spot in the Western Conference standings with a 14-7 record.

They are ranking 3rd in the league in offensive rating with 116.4, and much of that is because of the production of their superstar Nikola Jokic. He is even having a quiet season for his standards, dishing a triple-double here and there. The most important thing for the Nuggets in the early season is Jamal Murray and his offensive synergy with the rest of the team. Murray is averaging close to 18 points whilst dishing 6 assists per game, and shooting semi-efficiently from the field. He will be the main source of offensive production for the Nuggets tonight, as we are expecting the Hawks to show poor backcourt defence, given the fact this has been their main source of problems this season.

The Nuggets will most likely be missing Jeff Green, who is doubtful for tonight, whilst Jamal Murray’s status has changed from Questionable to Probable. We are expecting him to start tonight and build upon his momentum from the last 3 games where he was averaging 26.5 points and 6 assists.

The Hawks are going to face many problems with their roster tonight. The moneyline suggests the Nuggets are -1.5 point favourites, but the it has the potential to shift closer to -6.5 points if all the players listed as ‘questionable’ players for Atlanta end up sitting out. D. Hunter is out with a hip flexor strain. Even more impactful could be John Collins’ status, as he will be out with an ankle injury at least until December 23rd.

Bogdan Bogdanovic, Frank Kaminsky and Clint Capela are all Questionable for tonight, but we expect only Kaminski to play. In this case, an opportunity to catch value on the -2.5 spread for Denver is very good.
