So, I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of… wait, wrong quote. I consider us pretty fortunate to be staring at the line I am suggesting as the best bet to make for Monday’s baseball action. Patty Corbin is taking the mound in Washington against the New York Mets offense, and the line setters seem to think Christmas is actually in August and not July or December.
Over 2.5 runs? Okay, hold on, I need that pinch I asked for before because what the hell is that? If the Mets don’t score 3 runs before we get to the 6th inning against Patrick Corbin? Yellowstone might finally implode and the biggest volcano in North America could potentially kill us all.
I know, you expected that one, right?
Okay, seriously, Pinnacle is showing me 1.92 for the Over 2.5 NY Mets team total in 5 innings and that is not only the play of the day but it might just be the only bet you need to make all week. I am not one to go on those big limbs and tell people to double their bets often, but I am making this my first 7 Units out of 10 on this site. You normally see I stick with a 4/10 to keep flat level stakes because changing your unit structure messes with your approach IMO.
In this case, I cannot fathom how Corbin can manage to get through the Mets lineup twice, at least. The last time we saw Patty take the hill he hurled 5 innings against Arizona and gave up 5 earned runs on 8 hits. He was yanked after pitch #99 on the night and that makes it six straight starts without a win (5L & 1 ND).
I think we all know that Max Scherzer is going to not want to come out of this game for any reason at any point no matter what. He has only picked up 1 win since returning from the time on the injury list and his last start was another tough pill for him to swallow. Max went 7 strong against the Yanks and I think he broke about 5 players’ hands high-fiving dudes when he came off the field after he got out of the 7th inning with a 2 – 0 lead.
You know I saw all of that outing and now he gets his old team that he has a title with? Going back to Washington is not good for the Nationals tonight, and Max might strike out 17 guys. Even if the line is 8.5 or 9.5 on Scherzer’s K count tonight, you need to jump on that like you are 7-years-old on a trampoline with 3 friends and 15 water balloons on a hot day!
