Texas Rangers vs Houston Astros Same Game Parlay, Opta Stats, Player Props

Our resident baseball expert Ej Garr was spot-on with his ALCS Game 3 predictions, helping our readers splash a 3.60 combo that could have included his bonus bets! That’s why you always need to read through Ej’s betting articles because he slips in those little extra tidbits of love, and he’s at it again on Friday night.

The Astros indeed pulled the ALCS to a 2 – 2 draw, which means we now have a best-of-3 series left to play in deciding which of these clubs makes an appearance in the 2023 World Series.

It looks like Ej expects the road teams to continue their torrid pace to the post-season, as the Astros and Rangers have played 4 games and none of the home teams have won a damn thing yet! Let’s take it to the diamond and smash out another MLB same-game parlay for Friday night!

Same Game Parlay Odds: 3.60

Odds via Bet365 as of 8:00 am on October 20, 2023. Odds may now differ.

TEXAS RANGERS VS HOUSTON ASTROS STATS & FACTS

  • The Astros are 6 – 0 in their last 6 League Championship road games.
  • The Rangers are 1 – 7 in their last 8 playoff home games.
  • The Game Total Over is 6 – 1 in the Rangers’ last 7 League Championship games.

TEXAS RANGERS VS HOUSTON ASTROS SAME GAME PARLAY: ALCS DEADLOCKED AT 2 – 2

HOUSTON ASTROS GAINING STEAM IN ARLINGTON

Well, I do hope you included my two bonus bets on the Altuve and Alvarez props to get a hit with the Astros ML and Total Over last night. It sure is nice to bang out a combo like that for everyone as the dogs just keep on barking in the American League playoffs.

As you are well aware by now if you have been reading my articles, the Rangers started the MLB post-season as underdogs in their first seven games, and they won all seven of them. They returned home to Arlington after winning both Games 1 & 2 in Houston, and now the Astros have won both of their games as underdogs to level the series at two games apiece.

Once again if you watched Thursday night’s game, the Astros look so damn pissed off at the baseball that they want to rip the laces off of it with every hack at the dish. Altuve looks mad, Alvarez always looks like a man possessed at the plate, and they both were heavy contributors to the Game 4 win.

Altuve picked up a pair of doubles and a knock while Alvarez drove in three runners from his pair of hits, and oh… Jose Abreu’s baseball was just seen in downtown Arlington bounding around the City limits, so his getting hot is simply not good for Jordan Montgomery.

Monty and Justin Verlander, the Game 1 starters in Houston, are slated to take the mound for Game 5 on Friday night. While we still need to recall that the two of them were the first pair of pitchers in the entire post-season to last 6 innings each, that was a 2 – 0 game and a Texas win that opened the ALCS.

Now that this series has been reduced to a best-of-3, Verlander is going to pitch his brains out again for the Astros, especially after pitching so well just to get handed a loss because his offense didn’t show up at all.

Tonight, I think the Astros are swinging the bat so aggressively, that they will rely on the fact that Montgomery will rely on his change-up to get the big outs. Being a Yankees fan as I am, I know Monty’s stuff quite well, and he falls in love with his off-speed arsenal. He used it well enough to shut out the Astros through 6 ⅓ innings, but I see things working out differently tonight.

Houston has stolen every lick of momentum that the Rangers carried from the two wins in Houston, and now the Astros are the team doing both the hunting while also being hunted! Houston was the favourite to win this series before Game 1, and despite some shifting in the line since then, they are still listed at 1.75 to win the ALCS.

Having two games in Houston as a cushion may not be there if Texas wins Game 5, and let’s not forget that Texas knows how to win in Houston, so games 6, and a possible 7 could get all sorts of hairy!

I will go Astros Moneyline to take a 3 – 2 series lead back to Houston, as Ryan Pressly is a perfect 14 for 14 in his opportunities to lock down a save in his post-season career. I’ll trust that kind of stat if Houston has any kind of late lead to hold.

THE RUNS JUST KEEP ON KEEPIN’ ON

The Astros belted out 10 runs on Thursday night, and as tough as it was to hit Montgomery in Game 1, the bats we see at the moment didn’t look like they do now. Houston’s entire damn lineup is holding a stick with bad intentions, and we all know they have that experience to rely on when it comes to winning big games in October.

Game 1 might have been a 2 – 0 final, but Game 5 will not be. Verlander will still get hit a little harder, but the Astros offense won’t leave him hung out to dry this time. I expect a 3 – 3 game early and a 6 – 5 win for Houston which means they will be returning home for Game 6 and a potential Game 7 if need be.

Combined, with the Over 8.5 with the Stros ML we’ll get 3.60 odds for the same-game parlay, and that’s okay with me to finish the week.
