An 11 – 0 start to the new 2023 MLB campaign! We haven’t seen a start like this since the 1987 Brewers team tied the record of 13 – 0 that was set by the Atlanta Braves in 1982. The Rays are two wins away from tying the record and Chris Sale has the lovely assignment of trying to find his stuff in hopes of being the man who ends the streak.
A 3-game sweep of the Tigers, Nationals, and A’s came before these two recent wins over Boston the last two nights. These are the first AL East Division games that Tampa Bay has played, and we all know these games hold weight in the standings. Two wins over Boston means the brooms are out as the Rays look to sweep away Boston out of the Trop!
I found the prop we need to bet, and you know we cashed two tickets the last time Chris Sale took an MLB field when he lost to the Tigers, 6 – 3. I am feeding you a bonus bet with the prop of Will Chris Sale Give Up O/U 1.5 Walks… Magic 8-ball says signs point to yes, yes will again, as he has done in both of his starts thus far in the young campaign.
Sale walked 2 Orioles and 3 Tigers in his first two starts of the season, and I expect Tampa Bay to be patient enough to chase down a couple of more free passes tonight. The line is fair enough at 1.91, which is not much of a vig to face, and you know how we roll around here. That is more than acceptable when it comes to cashing our tickets, and I think it’s the best bet to make for this game.
Along with that, I see the Rays team total at a straight 4 with 1,93 odds attached to that action, so why wouldn’t we be on that as well? I expect Sale and/or the Sox bullpen to allow 4 runs no matter how it breaks down, so that is your bonus bet for the night.

I will fade Chris Sale and I wish we could find a better price on the earned runs allowed prop bet toward his performance tonight. I have zero confidence that he will be the guy who stops the Rays from going 12 – 0 and one step closer to history. Watch for the Rays’ next trip to Toronto to be an exciting battle of AL East teams who both want to be in the post-season this year!
