Did you like that Game 1 call? I know, the Runs, Hits, and Errors prop bet was such easy money in the bank that it almost makes me want to do it again for Game 2. Let’s see the stats and talk about stuff, baby!
Game 2 Moneyline Odds: San Diego / Philadelphia – Game Total
Expected Starting Pitchers: Padres Blake Snell (9 – 10, 3.36 ERA) vs Aaron Nola (13 – 13; 3.06 ERA)
So, if you didn’t get to see Game 1, let me spell out what you missed and catch you up. First of all, Zach Wheeler was ridiculous on the mound for the Phillies and Kyle Schwarber’s baseball is literally still going.
Wheeler was in total control through 4⅓ innings despite throwing 24 pitches in the first inning. His 52nd pitch of the night ended up being the only hit the Padres got all night, which tells you how the rest of the night went for the Phillies’ pitching staff. Wheeler came out of the game after 7 innings of unbelievable ball, striking out 8 Padres and allowing that single hit in the outing.
Bryce Harper went deep in the top of the 4th off Yu Darvish and the only earned runs Darvish had against him came from that blast and the ball hit off Kyle Schwarber’s bat. If you were asleep and hadn’t seen the blast he stroked? Yeah, go look that up because the ball was last seen in downtown San Diego breaking the windows of the buildings out past right field.
It wasn’t just the fact that Scharber hit the ball 488 feet, but the 120 exit velocity tore the cover off of the baseball. Harper now has four dingers in the 2022 post-season and he came close to hitting the second homer in his final at-bat that was an out caught right in front of the wall.
I am going to be intrigued watching such an early start for a playoff game after such a late finish to Game 1. I cannot recall seeing San Diego start a game this early this year even on a weekend or a getaway day.
Aaron Nola is also pitching lights out of late, and if you aren’t sure of that look at his last 3 outings. If 19⅓ innings pitched without allowing a single earned run doesn’t impress you, let’s talk about who he did it against.
Not only did he shut down the Astros in his final regular-season start to the tune of 6 ⅔ and only 2 hits, but then the two playoff starts are outstanding outings to boot. Nola made the Cardinals look stupid first and then he made the Braves look like they were out of their league last time out.
Blake Snell hasn’t given up more than 2 earned runs in any of his last 6 starts, and the last time he was on the bump the Dodgers were the worse for it. Snell threw 5⅓ of 5-hit baseball earning a 2 – 1 win over the Dodgers as part of eliminating the team that won 111 games this year.

The well is still filled with gold, and we are going right back t it for Game 2. It’s an early start and these guys will have to regroup and try to deal with two more studs in form on the mound. Take the RHE prop to stay low again and enjoy another walk to the window with a ticket that needs to be cashed in. Expect the Runs, Hits, and Errors to be tough to find!
