The Mets just got manhandled by the Detroit Tigers as their offense has looked terrible despite getting two of their big-name pitchers back this week. Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander were supposed to instill some confidence in a struggling Mets team that has now fallen to the .500 mark with a 16 – 16 record this campaign.
Confidence: SHATTERED!
Scherzer got absolutely lit up against his former Tiger team on Wednesday, and Verlander was unable to get a lick of run support on Thursday as both took losses that now leave the Mets with a 2 – 9 record over their last 11 games.
The line setters want to ask you to pay a 1.44 offer on the struggling Mets to get a win tonight, and I am simply not convinced that the plane trip back to New York from Detroit will instill any good vibes. That means there is more value in Colorado than you can shake a baseball at, and the bookmakers at 1×2 bet are gifting out a 3.10 line on the Rockies to pick up a road win.
Now, no one out here knows better about how Colorado has been rubbish on the road for about 10 years now, but one thing they have going for them right now is a 4-game win streak and a struggling Mets offense.
Antonio Senzatela is set to make his season debut for the Rockies on Friday night, as the Mets will have the DJ in the house to go along with their alternate black jerseys. The Mets dawn the black every Friday as they started that tradition about 4 years ago. I don’t care what color jersey they wear, how high they wear their socks, or if they put on their hat backward because the Mets look like a fish out of the water!
At the same token, we are a little gun-shy about rolling out the confidence in Senzatela quite yet, as he has a lot to prove this season to finally make his first start of the 2023 campaign. This is his first start since tearing his ACL a year ago, and the Mets will undoubtedly be aggressive and try to give him an early shower.
I am not going to be convinced that the Rockies on the road is a safe bet, nor are the Mets at this point either so here’s what we’re going to do…

I have no issue with anyone who makes a play on the +1.5 with the Rockies since the odds on that are about even money. Colorado Moneyline is tempting as hell but I am always scared of them when they travel because they have proven that they struggle to win on the road.
So, with Pinnacle offering 2.55 on the +1, I am more than content to settle for that offer. Let the Mets win a 1-run game for all we care because that will just give us our money back to bet another day! No harm, no foul, but if the Rockies stay hot and the Mets stay cold, we would love the outright win at a splendid price regardless.
