The race for the NL Central Division title is shaping up to be a battle between the Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds, but only one team can claim the top spot. We have just returned from the All-Star break, and currently, the Reds and Brewers are separated by 2 games in the divisional race.
Well, the line setters seem to want to convince you that Milwaukee will run away with this thing but guess what? They won’t! The Reds are going to catch the Brew Crew and the Cincinnati is going to end up winning the NL Central Division crown.
Neither team has shown a lick of consistency this campaign, so it is the proverbial coinflip situation. If I have to pick my poison, the Reds are my choice to power through and leapfrog the Brewers in September.
I don’t think that either team ends up with much better than a ..500 record, and now I need to talk about the line discrepancy here. Milwaukee is listed at 1.30 to make the playoffs and the Reds are listed at 3.20 to be playing in the post-season when the regular season ends.
To see them both this close in the table and see a difference of that magnitude, the Reds hold all of the value and it isn’t even close. So, what you’re going to do is play the Brewers to NOT make the playoffs and the Reds to not only make it into the post-season but win the NL Central title too!
I understand and see that the Brewers have a better record within the division, but there are so many games left to be played. Futures betting is all about hunches and what we think will happen going forward, and I just envision the Reds being the team that comes out on top ahead of Milwaukee.

While we’re all used to the Dodgers and Giants battling for the top spot in the division in recent years, someone forgot to tell the DBacks that they aren’t good enough to be here.
This is a 3-way race for the NL West crown, and the Dodgers, Giants, and Diamondbacks are all within 2 games of each other as we come out of the All-Star break.
Every season there is one team that no one predicted would do well enough to be a playoff team or division winner, and this year the Diamondbacks will provide that Cinderella story everyone loves.
I personally believe that the Giants are going to have a complete meltdown and drop out of this race completely, and I will discuss more about that in a minute. The Dodgers and Diamondbacks will meet 5 more times before the regular season ends and the Giants and Diamondbacks have 6 meetings left to play before the post-season begins.
The Dodgers are the heavy favourites to win the NL West title listed with odds of 1.33 at most sites that carry futures betting options. (Give or take a few bucks depending on your site) FanDuel here in the United States is offering odds of 10.00 for Arizona to win the NL West crown, but since you’re all mostly in Europe the best lines I can find come in at 7.00. The San Francisco Giants are in a 3-way battle to win the NL West Division as discussed above, and one of those teams is going to fall out of the race and fail to make the post-season. The Dodgers and D’Backs are the two organizations that I expect to be battling for the NL West crown, and as you see
Amazingly, all three teams have heavy juice attached to the YES response of making the playoffs, but that is simply absurd! There will not be three representatives from the NL West participating in the 2023 post-season!, and the Giants are going to be the squad that falls apart in September. How do I know this?
Well, Arizona has a deeper pitching staff and the hunger that players get when they haven’t been to the promised land yet. I think everyone in that Arizona locker room has plans to turn on the jets and somehow knock the Giants and Dodgers out of the way.
With 6 meetings left between Arizona and San Francisco, the D’Backs will use those games to overtake the Giants and I love their remaining schedule too. Arizona has a series with the lowly Rockies early in September, and they’ll get 7 games against the Cubs. With a set against the White Sox and Yankees, that is one nice path to the post-season in my opinion.
The Giants have a rough September schedule ahead of them including 7 games against the Dodgers near the end of the month. The 7 games against the Padres won’t be easy to navigate and a pair of games against Arizona in the mix will provide more difficulty.

If any team from the NL West is going to fail to be playing October baseball, it will be the Giants. The 3.00 price is fair enough, so take advantage of it and make it rain!
