Minnesota Twins vs Chicago White Sox Run Total Best Bet: Giolito’s Last Road Trip
Minnesota Twins vs Chicago White Sox Run Total Best Bet: Thursday, September 29th
The Twins and White Sox are playing for nothing but to finish out the campaign, and Lucas Giolito is making his final road start of 2022. One thing our baseball guy around here likes to do is throw the fade on Giolito when the opportunity arises, and it appears as if today is that day!

Minnesota Twins vs Chicago White Sox Preview
September 29, 18:10 (UK time)
The Minnesota Twins (76 – 79) will wrap up their 3-game set against a struggling Chicago White Sox (76 – 79) on Thursday afternoon, as the road team has now lost their last 8 games. Once upon a time, the White Sox were in the playoffs discussion but this current run of results has essentially ended that chatter.
The Twins pounded out 8 runs on Wednesday night, which means that over the last 9 games the Sox have not given up less than 4 runs. Lucas Giolito (10 – 9; 5.05 ERA) is listed as the expected Sox starter and Louie Varland (0 – 2; 5.06 ERA) will be making his 4th start of the campaign on Thursday.
If you have followed me around here this season you know the Giolito story, and I will have to show a little respect to him because he has somewhat held his own of late. Giolito last pitched against this Twins club on September 4, and he gave up one home run but only 2 earned runs in the outing. Chicago ended up losing the game 5 – 1, which was part of the current run of 5 straight showings without a win for Giolito.
Giolito has faced the Tigers 3 times over his last 9 starts, including the previous two games that he made an appearance. If I am being honest, it is not just a fade of Giolito in this spot as much as it as my lean towards offense with two teams playing for nothing. Giolito will likely give up 3 earned runs through 6 innings and the bullpen will come on and give up two more as they usually do.
It is just my assumption that the Twins will not be held to less than 5 runs, and then we have to factor in Louie Varland. Varland has only made three Major League starts in his young career, and even though he’s given the Twins 5 innings each time, he has given up a home run in all 3 outings. In a similar fashion to Giolito,
I expect Varland to give up at least 3 earned runs through his 5 innings on the field which means we’ll be at 3 – 3 through 5 needing a couple of players to cross the dish before the final out.
Minnesota Twins vs Chicago White Sox Best Bet
First of all, the twins are listed at 2.06 to win this game, because the Sox all of sudden deserve to be favoured after losing 8 straight games. Is that a joke? Secondly, It will be 5 – 5 at some point in the 7th inning, so we will not have to stress too long to see the 7,5 get toppled.
