Milwaukee Brewers vs Pittsburgh Pirates Bet Builder Tips: Thursday, August 3rd

The Milwaukee Brewers are now in second place in the NL Central Division, as their poor run of recent results are costing them spots in the table. Now trailing the Cincinnati Reds by a game in the division race, the Brewers face the Pirates on Thursday night to play the first of a four-game set between division foes.

The Pirates are nine games behind the Brewers in the NL Central table and ten games behind the Reds, but that doesn’t mean that the Bucs are out of the race for the playoffs… yet!

Milwaukee Brewers vs Pittsburgh Pirates Stats and Facts

  • The Pirates are 5-0 in their last 5 games following a loss.
  • The Brewers are 0-5 in Housers’ last 5 starts opening game 1 of a series.
  • The Total Under is 7 – 0 in Housers’ last 7 home starts.

Pittsburgh Pirates Moneyline

The Brewers have lost five of their last six games, and now they find themselves trailing the Cincinnati Reds in the NL Central Division standings by a game. The Pirates are also now chasing the Reds, and ten games may seem like a lot of ground to make up, but the Pirates have shown they can catch fire. Let’s not forget that had the rails not fallen off the ship; the Pirates were one of the hottest teams in baseball to begin the 2023 campaign. Once 20-8, the Pirates’ season turned for the worst as soon as April came to a close.

We know they have it in them to come together and make a decent run, and I think they are catching Milwaukee at a perfect time. That’s while they’re losing games and simply not playing well! Having lost 5 of their last six games, the Brewers need something to remind them that they have been the team being chased in the standings to this point.

After losing again tonight against the Nationals, Milwaukee have been swept by the Braves and lost 2/3 games against Washington coming into tonight’s game. That is not the best mojo to carry around, and I don’t think that being at home is going to remedy the situation.

Mitch Keller and Adrian Houser are listed as the probable starters, and I don’t think I can find any trends that point to a total to go over any number. I found about nine stats to use in the trends area that all point to the under, but none of those games had these two guys on the same pitchers’ mound on the same night.

Home runs much? Adrian Hauser has surrendered seven home runs over his last nine starts, and Mitch Keller’s season has been smashed for seven home runs over his previous five starts.

As bad as the Brewers’ offense has been lately, they will likely have some success tonight, but I think the Pirates will come away with this win when the final out of the game is made.

Game Total Over 8.5 Runs

These two pitchers and an under? Are you out of your ever-lovin’ mind? Neither pitcher will be near this field come the 6th inning, and the bullpens will be what decides this game.

This 1st 5-Inning total is five, and I see about 2.10 being offered at any site carrying the offer. Beat that with a bat and break its knees! So many runs will cross the plate before we get near the 6th inning, so take full advantage of that, too.

Your MLB bet builder of the night is the Bucs Moneyline and the Over 8.5, but don’t forget to smash this 1st 5-inning total!
