Milwaukee Brewers vs Colorado Rockies Run Total Best Bet: Friday, July 22nd

TGIF! It’s time to get ready for the weekend after following up on another winning tip given out on Thursday from our baseball expert Ej Garr. Currently, Ej is on a 7 – 2 – 2 run with his totals betting, and he is headed to the midwest for the play to make on Friday night. The Rockies are in town to take on the Brewers for the next 4 days, and the Friday night total is 7!

Milwaukee Brewers vs Colorado Rockies Preview

July 23, 01:10 time (UK time)

The Milwaukee Brewers and Colorado Rockies will begin a 4-game set on Friday night at American Friendly Field, and the total is the place to look to cash our final ticket of the week. Betfair is offering a straight 7 on this total with a 1.87 line showing on the Over, so that’s where the money is to be made.

I think we all know by now that the Rockies and the road are not good friends as they try not to spend too much time around each other. The constant arguing and… wait, are we talking about relationships or baseball? The 15 – 27 record away from home is certainly contributing to why the Rockies will not be a playoff team this campaign. Luckily, it’s only July so we have plenty of time left to see if they can get their road woes in check but they did have some success the last time they travelled.

The Rockies took 3 wins from their last 4-game road trip against the Diamondbacks from July 7 – 10, and it was good to see them play a little harder against a team they wanted to prove they could beat. Keep in mind that the Rockies and Diamondbacks are neck and neck in the N.L standings when that series started and they are still only a couple of games apart. The top 8 teams in the National League are starting to pull away a little from the bottom of the pack which contains this Rockies squad at 43 – 50.

In direct opposition to that, the Brew Crew is posting a 50 – 43 record going into the unofficial second half of the season. Now that we have all 30 teams restarting the regular day-to-day baseball operations, the chase is on for the post-season.

Milwaukee is holding the top spot in the NL Central Division, and it is simply a race between them and the Cardinals at this point. St. Louis is only one game back in the loss column behind the Brewers as the two of them are pulling away from the rest of their division foes. The 39 – 54 Pirates are their closest competitors, while the Cubs and Reds are a whole different story with no chance to play a role in the playoffs.

The two expected starters for this affair are Corbin Burnes (7 – 4; 2.14 ERA) for Milwaukee and Antonio Senzatela (3 – 5 4.95 ERA) for the Rockies.

Burnes is a different pitcher at home than he is on the road and that is not necessarily a good thing. Burnes ERA at home is 2.72 and he has given up 8 home runs in 9 home starts this season posting a mediocre 3 – 3 record. Let’s make no mistake that I am not fading Burnes’ ability to pitch well, but he does struggle more here than he does on the road and the weather could also play a role in the outcome of the game.

Senzatela has made 13 starts this campaign and despite only allowing 5 home runs his ERA is up near 5. The 34 – 15 K to BB ratio is certainly not impressing anyone and he is been on the bench for the last 3 weeks. I will be interested to see how 3 weeks off will affect his ability to stay composed and put up a quality start which I do not expect to see him manage to do.

I am seeing a 10 – 15 M.P.H breeze blowing out of the southwest and I do believe that will push a ball or two out towards the outfield. The humidity at game time is expected to be near 70% as well, and that is also a good thing to support a total to go over the number. Let’s also mention that we are talking about 7 runs to push our action at 1.87 and an 8th run to cash our ticket outright. We’re not asking for some overwhelming scoring to happen here and I do believe we will get our 8 runs before the final out is recorded.

Milwaukee Brewers vs Colorado Rockies Best Bet

The Rockies showed some signs of life from their last road trip and I am hoping it carries over enough to remind them how to hit a baseball. I think Senzatela is fade material and Burnes at home struggles to keep the ball in the park. I see a 6 – 4 win for the home team which topples our Over 7 with cushion to spare so have a nice weekend and enjoy cashing another ticket.
