Miami Marlins vs Kansas City Royals Best Bet: A Royal Meltdown
Miami Marlins vs Kansas City Royals Best Bet: Wednesday, June 7th
The Kansas City Royals campaign is continuing to melt down, and the downward trends are stacking up against them. Trying to avoid another 3-game sweep in Florida, the Marlins are out to keep the Royals at bay as heavy home favourites on Wednesday night.
Our resident baseball expert Ej Garr split his pair of offers from his Monday article, but we have good news! Ej has another twosome to offer our readers today, and we’ll bet he will nail them both!

Miami Marlins vs Kansas City Royals Preview
June 7, 23:10 (UK time)
The Royals are trying to avoid a 3-game sweep at the hand of the Miami Marlins, and the Fishheads are starting to prove that they are not a team that is going to go away quietly. At 34-28, have you noticed that the Marlins only trail the Braves in the NL East Division table? Not the Mets and not the Phillies, the Marlins are the team playing with confidence as we break into the third month of the 2023 campaign.
As you all know, I don’t rely on trends and stats because I watch a lot of baseball games, and numbers are only one of many things there are to take notice of. I decided to look into a few today so I will share these gems with you.
Kansas City hates playing against National League opponents because they haven’t figured out how to beat any of them! The Royals are 1 – 8 against NL East foes, and 6 – 21 against the National League when they face a right-handed pitcher. Edward Cabrera is listed as the probable starter for the Fishheads on Wednesday, and despite his 4.50 ERA, he hasn’t had a rough outing yet this campaign.
Cabrera has made 12 starts this season and allowed less than 3 ER in 10 of those affairs. He may not go deep into games, but I think he will handle the Royals’ offences as he did the A’s offence in his last outing. When you face a poor offense you should know how to keep them limited and his start against Oakland was ridiculous. He had 10 strikeouts, only walked one batter, allowed a total of 4 hits, and not a single runner crossed the plate against him. That’s solid!
And then we turn the tables and discuss Jordan Lyles. Speaking of Meltdowns, HELLO!!?? Lyles has also made 12 starts this season and it is hard to get past the 0 – 9 record. Winless, not a victory to be found, and that is outrageous to still have a job when your team can’t rely on you every fifth day.
I can’t rely on Lyles with my money either, and Cabrera should certainly have the pitching edge along with a Marlins’ offence that is hitting the tar out of the baseball right now.
I have two bets to suggest for this contest, so let’s get them on the board!
Miami Marlins vs Kansas City Royals Best Bet
First of all, Jordan Lyles to allow more than 1.5 Walks has odds of 2.05, and that is more than a suitable option for your first bet of the night. Secondly, the Marlins team total of 4.5 and I see enough value in 1.95 to offer the Over on that prop so that should set you up with two wins for Hump Day!
- Selection: Miami Marlins Team Total Over 4.5 Runs
- Best Odds: 1.95 (William Hill)
- Stakes 4/10
- Bonus Bet: Jordan Lyles to Allow Over 1.5 Walks (2.05 at WilliamHill)
Odds as of 9:00 am June 7, 2023. Odds may now differ.
