Colorado Rockies vs San Francisco Giants Run Total Best Bet: Monday, September 19th

Hold on to your hats because you are about to witness something that you have never seen done by our resident baseball guru Ej Garr. We are starting the week in Denver to find the Monday best bet on a total, and this ticket has the potential to be a winner after only one inning of play!

You read that right because I am about to shock you with this offer to start the week. I hope you can handle what I am about to say because it took me about a half hour to decide to put this offer on the table.
So, you know by now that I offer an Over tip more often than I look toward the unders. I am going to assume that you see these two starting pitchers and naturally think I have another total flying over the number, and I understand that.

Jakob Junis (4 – 6; 4.15 ERA) and Chad Kuhl (6 – 9; 5.33 ERA) have given up plenty of runs throughout the campaign, and I am not about to think it will change today. However, when I saw the 2.30 offer on the Under 0.5 runs in the 1st-Inning, it just hit me.

We all know that the totals are inflated in this park as they have been all year. What should be listed as an 8.5 always ends up as an 11.5 here at Coors Field. First, this total should be 12.5 with these two guys on the same mound, but why isn’t it? That seems strange because, in any other park, these two should show more like a 9.5 on the total, which means that a Coors Field number should be closer to 12.5 or 13 if you ask me.

Ironically, they did inflate the 1st 5-Inning total to 6.5 but the line setters left the full-time total at 11.5. I see two or three bookmakers showing a 1.82 for the straight 11 to go over, and that is worth a look to me. This is where the shock and dismay will start to settle in. I am suggesting the Over 11 as a bonus play at that price. I am also predicting that none of the runs in this game will happen in the opening frame. I know, right!

I am just not a fan of 1st inning totals in the opening game of a 4-game series as we have here in Denver on Monday night. The players and coaches know they will be here for a while, and these two offenses aren’t exactly tearing the cover off of the ball lately either. Sure, we see the Giants giving up runs again of late because scoring 5 runs on the Giants seems like child’s play on any night.

Quite simply, I expect a 0 – 0 1st inning, and then the wheels will fall off later in the game for both of these starting pitchers. And I don’t just mean one of them, but they will both be giving up runs which is why you should squeeze the marginal juice on the game total too.

Colorado Rockies vs San Francisco Giants Best Bet

I’ve already said it. No runs will be scored early, and like clockwork, the rallies will begin, and the runs will follow suit as the game progresses.

  • Selection: 1st-5 Inning Under 0.5 Runs
  • Best odds: 2.38 (Pinnacle)
  • Stakes: 4/10
  • Bonus Tip: Over 11 (1.82)

Odds as of 10:00 am September 19, 2022. Odds may now differ.
