Chicago White Sox vs Toronto Blue Jays Preview
Wed, July 5th. 01:10 (UK time)
The White Sox and Blue Jays begin a 3-game series on Tuesday in the Windy City, and the Blue Jays arrive to Chicago in a funk. After getting swept by division foes Boston, the Blue Jays have fallen 11 games back in the AL East standings but the offense hasn’t been the problem in the least.
Even though the Jays lost all three games to the Red Sox, they scored no less than 5 runs in any of the affairs. Also, if you look over the history of these two teams, the Jays love scoring runs on the Sox.
Last season, Lucas Giolito faced the Jays twice, and each outing resulted in a loss and runs being scored along the way for Toronto. Giolito is listed as the expected starting pitcher for the Sox at home on Tuesday, and it is a holiday here in the States too. There will be a fireworks event happening after the game for fans who stay the distance, and that, of course, is to commemorate our Independence.
This happens to be my favourite Holiday because cooking out, downing a few Yuengling’s and being treated to our local fireworks show is how I will be spending my Tuesday, thank you!
Anyway, Giolito is on pace to break his own personal record of home runs allowed in a campaign. Already to 16 dingers smashed against him, Giolito has allowed 27 home runs within one season twice in his career, and if he makes 14 more starts he might just get to 30 in 2023.
In his last outing against the Angels, two more balls left the yard over the head of Giolito, and that makes it 10 of his last 11 starts with at least 1 HR allowed. Balls will be leaving the yard on Tuesday night, and that is pointing me to what we call a same-game parlay here in America. You guys label it an Acca, and you know me for dishing out multiple bets within a preview already.
Now, we get to play hardball, and I apologize for the Royals part of my Monday night Acca. They spoiled the soup for me/us, so I hope to make it up with this Acca tonight.
The White Sox are 3 – 2 over their last 5 games, but they have allowed no less than 5 runs in any of those outings. Everyone runs on the Sox, and you can tell by the 105 attempts of opponents trying to steal bases against them. Only 16 of those base stealers have been thrown out, so that tells you how often teams have success grabbing extra bags against the Sox.
Chris Bassitt is the expected starting pitcher for Toronto, and he too can be found giving up longballs this year. He is either making clean outings or giving up 3 home runs it seems, so we can always wonder which Bassitt we will see on any given day.
Chicago White Sox vs Toronto Blue Jays Bet Builder Tips
I believe that there will be plenty of runs in this game and that is making me suggest a few tips to bank on for this game on Tuesday night in Chicago.
First of all, if you can get the total at 9 and a fair price on the Over, take it. Whatever you think is fairly priced, although I see 1.95 for the Over 9 right now, so that is worth it to me.
Your Bet Builder for the night is two tips within this game which are…
- Blue Jays Over 4.5 Runs
- Blue Jays to Win Game
