Kari Kauffmann is listed as the probable starting pitcher for the Rockies. He has made only two starts this campaign and his ERA is 9.35.
Ryne Nelson is listed as the Snakes’ probable starter, and he has looked pretty stout over his last two starts but I expect that run to end tonight against the Rockies offense.
Does it matter who the Rockies are playing to expect runs to be scored in droves? Creating rallies and driving home multiple runners is something any decent offense can do against the Rockies because their starting pitching could be better and the defense behind whoever starts is always a question mark.

You know we have 30 teams in MLB, right? As you peruse the rankings there is a big #29 next to just about every pitching statistic in the entire league. The 5.73 runs per game have them in the 29-slot, opponents’ .275 leaves them ranked at 29th, and the .821 OPS against is good enough to be ranked… you guessed it.. 29th!

Arizona has a top-10 offense in plenty of offensive categories including a number that shows great discipline at the plate, the Snakes rank 4th in striking out, and the 5.07 runs per game places them 6th in the MLB rankings, and that makes me think we are going to see a lot of early runs here at Chase Field on Monday afternoon.
