Arizona Diamondbacks vs Colorado Rockies Best Bet: Rocks and Snakes Play First of Four
ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS VS COLORADO ROCKIES BEST BET: MONDAY, MAY 29th
The Arizona Diamondbacks welcome the Colorado Rockies to Chase Field for the first game of a 4-game set to kick off the week. The Rockies will be on the road the entire week ahead, and their 9 – 16 record away from home could improve. Our resident baseball expert Ej Garr is picking out a play to get us all paid halfway through the match, so let’s take it to the diamond and see what’s in store for Monday.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs Colorado Rockies Preview
May 29, 21:10 (UK time)
The Rockies will be playing 7 road games over the next 7 days, and their away record of 9 – 16 could lead to trouble over the next 4 days in Arizona. Arizona carries a 14 – 12 home record into this week’s series with the Rocks, but if there is one thing we can expect to see on Monday it is runs being scored early and often.
I will just cut to the chase and tell you that we are not waiting for 9 innings to get paid from this match because I have found the better option. Oh, and as you also expect from me is extreme value behind my offers so we are not playing around to start the week.
Ready for it?
The 1st 5-Inning Total Over 5.5 runs is listed at 1.95, but no, no, no!
If you have alternate totals betting at your sportsbook as William Hill offers, you can have the Over 6.5 at 2.38 and expect no less than 7 runs to cross the plate before we get to the 6th inning.
Fortune favours the brave, and I will be bold enough to expect this early total to go over for at least 3 reasons.
- Kari Kauffmann is listed as the probable starting pitcher for the Rockies. He has made only two starts this campaign and his ERA is 9.35.
- Ryne Nelson is listed as the Snakes’ probable starter, and he has looked pretty stout over his last two starts but I expect that run to end tonight against the Rockies offense.
- Does it matter who the Rockies are playing to expect runs to be scored in droves? Creating rallies and driving home multiple runners is something any decent offense can do against the Rockies because their starting pitching could be better and the defense behind whoever starts is always a question mark.
You know we have 30 teams in MLB, right? As you peruse the rankings there is a big #29 next to just about every pitching statistic in the entire league. The 5.73 runs per game have them in the 29-slot, opponents’ .275 leaves them ranked at 29th, and the .821 OPS against is good enough to be ranked… you guessed it.. 29th!
Arizona has a top-10 offense in plenty of offensive categories including a number that shows great discipline at the plate, the Snakes rank 4th in striking out, and the 5.07 runs per game places them 6th in the MLB rankings, and that makes me think we are going to see a lot of early runs here at Chase Field on Monday afternoon.
Keep in mind, this game is starting at 16:15 local Arizona time and the peak of the day will heat up to 99 degrees F, Even if they do close the roof, the ball will still be traveling well and when it is 4 – 3 in the 4th inning the ticket will be cashed.
Arizona Diamondbacks vs Colorado Rockies Best Bet
Call it a hunch, but I am just not settling for the 5.5 because I want that 2.38 offer on the Over 6.5 runs through the first 5 innings of play. As I said, I can see a 4 – 3 game in plenty of time to get us paid to start the week with a ticket full of value! Pinnacle features the best line of 2.42 for the action, so make good use of it!
