Wyoming Cowboys vs Ohio Bobcats Best Bet: Friday, December 30th

The 9 – 4 Ohio Bobcats out of the MAC will square off with the 7 – 5 Wyoming Cowboys from the MWC, and the winner of the bout will hoist the Arizona Bowl trophy. Ohio arrives at the dance as slight favourites over the Cowboys, although they will be without their starting QB for the festivities.

Ohio QB Kurtis Rourke missed the final two games of the regular season and had to watch his team lose the MAC Championship game from the sidelines as well. Rourke’s season ended early and still put up some tremendous numbers, passing for over 3,200 yards with a 25 – 4 TD to INT ratio. His second season as the true starter for the Bobcats was poised to blow away 2021, so that gives CJ Harris, and possibly Parker Navarro, opportunities to take some snaps in the Arizona Bowl.

Figuring out if that is a good thing or not is my job here, and I am surely concerned that the line setters would try to lean people to Ohio. So many everyday bettors get suck with the mindset that if they are favoured, it must be for a reason, right? Yeah, stop that noise. You are talking to the man who invented how to think underdog and find value in having points in our pockets.

CJ Harris made one appearance last year, and he didn’t see the field in game-time conditions until November 15th, the first game without Rourke taking snaps. Harris passed the ball 8 times the entire game in the win over Ball State, but luckily the dimension he adds comes with those legs of his.

Harris is certainly going to have designed runs in the game plan today, and Seih Bangura has bad intentions when he carries the ball. Bangura is 3 carries and 60 yards away from being a 200-attempt, 1,000-yard rusher, and he will have both of those secured by halftime if the Bobcats are doing well.

Wyoming ended the year with a pair of losses to Boise State and Fresno State, and being shut out in your final game of the regular season is in no way a good thing coming into Bowl Season. The Cowboys scored a total of 31 points over their last 3 regular season games, and Wyoming QB Andrew Peasley is certainly inconsistent, to say the least.

Peasley has thrown 9 TD passes to go with 8 picks, and he cannot deliver a damn thing in the running game either. Cowboys tailback Titus Swen has already gotten his 1,000-yard campaign under his belt, and I expect both teams to run the ball, run the ball, and they might just run that pigskin into the ground when the game is said and done.
