Our resident college football expert Ej Garr is handing us two of his best bets for Week 10, and he is highlighting the biggest match of the weekend in Athens. I have two words to describe this matchup… OH, BABY!
ESPN GameDay will be headed to Athens, GA, and you’ll need a wager to take advantage of so you have a reason to tune in and watch Georgia and Tennessee football! A pair of undefeated programs out of the SEC will take it ‘Between the Hedges on Saturday afternoon, and the world will be watching!
Well, anyone into college football will be watching, at least, because what a game this is going to be. First of all, I hope Lee Corso gets to come here and put on the headgear. It’s been a tough year for Coach, and we all love the heck out of that guy so I know I can wish that he feels better and is here for years to come. He is as much of an institution as Dickie V is to college hoops, so he matters to the game.
Next, we have a football game to play, and there is one reason I chose this game and that is the number we are getting from the line setters on the handicap/spread. What the heck are they doing giving me +8.5 points in a game of this magnitude? Have you met me? I invented thinking dog, to the tune that the forum I have hosted for over 20 years of my life is quite literally called ThinkDog, so there’s that. Why do you think I call myself the Mayor of Value City? Dogs bark with points in the house, and upsets come with value! Thank you!
Tennessee being told that they have no chance to compete with Georgia because they’re heavily favoured to get beat up? Oh, thank you! Responsible for the only loss that Alabama has on their ledger, the Volunteers stink and don’t belong in Athens, right? They shouldn’t even bother getting off the bus, in fact, hey, just stay home and call it a forfeit instead, no shame in that!
Holy… yeah, that! Stop it! Just stop it now, and get your money on the Vols to cover those points right now! RIGHT NOW! If you are a teaser kind of player and you don’t move Tennessee to give yourself double-digits? You should take up knitting, and bet your grandmother that you can out-crochet her for 50 Euros!!

Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns vs Troy Trojans Preview
November 5, 22:00 (UK time)
I need a second game to go with that gem upstairs, and then I see Troy at -5, and my hands got all sweaty, and my heart started racing. Let me make sure no one is hurt and check to see if Chandler Fields might be returning for Louisiana, even though Ben Wooldridge is holding his own for now as the starting QB.
From what I can tell, Fields is set to miss a 4th straight game, and Wooldridge looked like a fish out of the water last weekend against Southern Miss. A trio of balls landed in the hands of the defence as 3 interceptions went along with that ugly 46.8 completion percentage.
This isn’t Arkansas State anymore, Toto! Wooldridge tossed 5 TD passes against the Red Wolves, but all of us could do that with one arm tied behind our backs. Arkansas State is terrible in case you don’t know!
Troy has a defence, and it’s why we can afford to give up a few points with the road team in this spot. I am no fan of favoured road teams, so when I do go there you know I must have a good reason. Troy has only lost to Appalachian State and Ole Miss this year, and if there is shame in that you’ll have to excuse me.
The troy defence ranks 14th in the Nation against the run, and one thing Louisiana can’t do this year is run the ball anyway. So, that means that Wooldridge will likely have to fling the ball around the park again, and that means more balls going the other way!
I am not banking on the Troy offence to be the deciding factor, because mediocre barely describes their ability to move the ball. That is my only real concern here, as Gunnar Watson likes to throw the ball to the wrong team too often himself. When you have a 6 – 7 TD to INT ratio, that usually spells trouble, and Jarret Doege hasn’t exactly fared that much better when he tosses the rock around. His 5 – 3 ratio proves that Troy better count on their defence and run the damn football early and often.
With a 5-game win streak in tow and only a few points to deal with here, I expect that Troy will be able to manage to find win #7 on the campaign and do it covering the line.

Again, the defences will be the theme of this low-scoring affair, but Troy gets the nod to find the W. My expectation of 23 – 13 and a double-digit win for the away side is how this Sun Belt Conference game will play out.
