USC TROJANS VS SAN JOSE STATE SPARTANS SAME-GAME PARLAY: A HIGH-SCORING AFFAIR ON THE WEST COAST
When your team returns a Heisman-winning quarterback, expectations start to rise through the roof for the campaign to come. Well, we’re here now, and USC has Caleb Williams returning to lead the charge for the Trojans again in 2023.
It was quite a 2022 campaign for Williams, but everything that he accomplished a year ago will have no bearing on what he needs to do to get the Trojans into the FBS Playoffs, much less win the whole kit and kaboodle in 2023.
There is only one game to win when the season starts, and the Trojans are expected to cruise past the Spartans strongly favoured by about 31 points. I am not going to concern myself with who covers the handicap, but instead, I think all three totals can be reached.
The Game total and each team’s total seem like low numbers to me, and yes, I paid some marginal juice to get each team’s total which I will explain next.
This total opened at 63.5, and now it has risen to a straight 66, and some bookmakers are going up to 67 as well. Bet365 is making me use 66.5 for the main total along with each of these team totals to complete this same-game parlay, so we will have to take it.
USC TROJANS TEAM TOTAL TO TOPPLE OVER 46.5 POINTS
Caleb Williams is going to have some much bigger fish to fry in mid-October, but the first six games of the 2023 campaign will see USC favoured to win, and in some cases win big! This is one of those instances, and I cannot believe we only need 47 points from the Trojans to cash this team total. I moved the line to 46.5 and the marginal juice we have shows 1.80, so for a same-game parlay it works just fine. I like that 47 number a lot, and I don’t think USC will get stuck with anything lower than that to open the season on Saturday.
SAN JOSE STATE TEAM TOTAL TO ALSO SMASH THE OVER 16.5 POINTS
I am buying this total down to 16.5 and the price is listed at 1.80 for this final bet of the same-game parlay for this game. Ironically, both teams could hit their team totals if we see a 47 – 17 game, but the game total is over 66.5 points.
So, we’ll need another field goal to go through the uprights to cash all three of these tickets, and I do not believe that USC will hold Sparty to less than 20 points.
Chevan Cordeiro has five years of experience calling plays, four at Hawaii, and last season he put up a decent campaign. With a 20 – 4 TD to INT ratio, Cordeiro added 8 scores with his legs in his first year here with Sparty in 2022, and he has his entire offensive line returning to support the cause.
Anyone who follows American football, either college or the NFL, knows that a team’s offensive line means more than any of the skill players on the field, and that gives Sparty a chance to do some good things in 2023.
Can they beat USC? No one is going to predict that, but I would love to see it happen because I love it when underdogs pull off big upsets! Don’t we all!!
Expect a 55 – 22 football game with the total and both team totals hitting the board to help us cash this 3.65 USC vs San Jose State Same Game Parlay for Saturday!
